I am just wondering if I am being a little too much OCD or maybe it is too much time away from Disney (I haven't been since 1996) that I am planning a trip for next year already and then I am already thinking about a Magical Gathering for the following year? We had to cancel our trip this year for medical reasons with our daughter and I was devastated. Although we did go the beach this summer I am still in WDW withdrawl.

So I guess what I am asking is it too soon to plan for 2008?????:rotfl2:

I'm not too sure it's ever too early to start planning a Magical Gathering, because it relies on so many people going at the same time. Some people have to plan for purposes of booking and paying for holidays like Disney for quite a ways out. Have fun with it.

Never too early to plan. Gives you time to leisurely browse through options and time to get EXCITED!!!!! :Pinkbounc

:wave2: We've not been since 1996 either! Sad, isn't it?! We're going in October and I'm so glad you're getting to go again, too. I don't think it's ever to early to begin planning, either. It'll give you lots of time to plan the PERFECT trip. Enjoy yourself, HAPPY PLANNING!!! :hourglass

yes, i agree. The best part is planning! Have fun, read up on everything and plan as much as possible. Once you come home, it is such a let down. I tired to explain this to my DD's 4 and 6 on our last trip, but they couldn't understand that yet.

I'm supposed to be going November 2007. But I decided to go back to school, I only have 1 year and 4 months left of an X-ray program , I had to stop this past spring for surgery. So Nov. 07 will be out, nor do I think I will be able to go over any of my breaks, I really don't think we'll have the money to go and really enjoy. Our last time there was march of 05 but we only did MK, it was a short little trip. Our kids are really waiting to go to Disney, But the trip will be an awesome one once I graduate :thumbsup2
Sooo are next trip is being planned for when I graduate in May 08, but we will probably go in November 2008, but I keep coming to the Disboards and thinking about our trip. By the time we go I'll be ready. Hey it's always something to look forward too.

I don't think it's ever too early to plan!! I'm not going until Nov 2007, but have been thinking/planning since Nov last year! And that's just for 2 of us!!
Enjoy reading everything you can, and it's like an esape to WDW reading the Dis boards! :surfweb: At least that's what I tell myself every day.

Enjoy your planning.

Thanks for the vote of confidence that I have really not fell of the deep end!

I did lots of planning for the trip that we missed this year. I personally think that the planning is a big part of the fun. I spend way too much time here on the DIS but it could be worse I guess. I hope that all of your all's future trips are magicalpixiedust:

too early to plan?? are you kidding??

we've usually got the next trip booked before we're done the current one!

planning's half the fun! i say, PLAN AWAY!! :teeth:

It's NEVER too early to plan! It seems like I am always planning! We went in June for our first on-site stay, and now I am planning for the next trip in October 2007. We want to experience the MNSSHP. I think it saves more money if you have more time to plan. Also, keeps me sane since I know we will be going again!!! I have that terrible Disney addiction!!! LOL!!

I don't think it's too early ha! I love planning trips too... we are going in January 2007 and I have been plannin it since last Oct. 05 sooooo... ha! But like it was said... I have to plan early because I have to budget the money for the trips... and it takes a good year to be able to get the money for Disney... see I love the little extras that Disney has to offer ha!

If you know the kind of park tickets (and length) you want, get them now at 2006 price. I confirmed with Disney that they never expire until first use, and you'll have them in hand. I had grand ideas about doing that, but I wound up buying them at the same time I was booking airfare. Ouch.

That's a good question! We are planning a Feburary 2009 trip as I type. The excitement comes and goes depending on what we are involved in. I expect the more intensive planning will start in the spring of 2008. :cool1:

Harvest02, We're just like you. We just got back from our first on-site stay, and now we're planning for a 6 night stay in December 2007. We're really excited about seeing WDW all decked out for Christmas.

To the OP, plan away! There's so much to read and you can have a much more relaxed trip if you feel like you've got some good background knowlege. And planning is just so darned fun. :cool1:

We haven't been since December and we're probably still as excited. The wedding we're going to in September has been in the planning stages since 2004. And we're planning BW in Spring 2007 and SoG in December. Advance planning never hurts, especially for a Gathering. good Luck!

You're from North Tonawanda?! My DH and I are originally from Depew and Cheektowaga, respectively. How COOL! We live near Atlanta, GA now. BTW, my DH's name is Sam and he used to work in NT! (at Tops) LOL :wave2:

This is my policy too, so we are not so sad about leaving. We always make sure we have the next trip on the books, so we we can say as we're leaving "But we'll be back in XXX months!"

It's never too early! Plus, it is easier to start saving when you start early. I have been planning my vacation since my first daughter was born in 2003! We were going to go in feb of 2006 until 2nd daughter came along in Sept of 2005. Now, our trip will be in Jan of 2008. I get on the computer almost daily and look at airfare, rental cars, etc to try and get an idea of price trends. I also know how much to set aside from each paycheck to cover the trip. The further away the trip is, the less you need to set aside! Have a great time planning...I know I am!
