What's the absolute farthest out from a trip that you've booked accomodations?
Is there a limit?
Thanks!

I don't think there is a limit. They will reserve a room for you, but you will not know how much the room will be until the new rates for that year come out. I booked my December 2003 trip in Nov 2002. Hope this helps!!!:)

14 months -- I reserved in October 2002 for December 2003!

We want to reserve our room for next February, and I was told we could not reserve a room until the rates were released for 2004. Any idea when this will occur?

Missy,

That doesn't sound right. I've always reserved my rooms at least 13 months out. They've always told me that they can place the ressie, but they can't give me a rate.

Are you calling CRO directly or going through a travel agent?

I booked about 14 months in advance for October 1998 & 1999. Disney Club discounts used to come out in August, so I got 20% off (October was value season then).

Now that I belong to DVC, I book BWV 11 months ahead for December and OKW 7 months ahead for May.

I called CRO, but maybe I should call back and see if another agent is more helpful. (although he was very nice)

I booked Aug. 1, 2002 for our Nov. 22 - 30, 2003 trip. That is about 16 months before the trip. I got a AAA rate of 20% off the rack rate.

But I am looking at a home away from home resort. I am now thinking I may not be able to reserve this far in advance becuase DVC members can't make reservations until 11 months out. Do you think that would be correct?

Home away from Home can only be booked 7 months out for non DVC members. They have to make sure all of their members get a place at their home resort for that time frame. Hope this helps!!!:)

10 years ahead!!

That's when we booked for New Years 1999/2000......The Millenium!
And....we paid a deposit at that time and the full balance 2 years prior in order to lock-in the 'great' price! :-)

That sure does help. I just thought about that, and I was sure DVC members should have priority above non-members. I'll just have to wait!
