How far ahead do you find out your cabin?

A little early here, but...I booked and inside guarantee and wanted to find out how soon and in what manner you can find out your cabin#.

My last cruise was on carnival and I knew several months ahead of time what my cabin# was by using a little trick. Does anyone know any info on this for Disney?

I was not aware of the "guarantee " booking when I booked my Disney cruise.
I gather the idea is that is the minimum category cabin you will get, and but you might get higher for no extra charge.
We got a specific cabin number the minute we booked, on Disney, and on our 5 previous cruises on other lines. However, on disney,we got bumped up from the category 10 we booked, to category 6, 8 days before our cruise.

I booked a gaurentee CAT 4 through DCL. I was told just the other day that room assignments are made 30-60 days prior to sailing, you can look up your ressi on Disneycruiseline.com. As soon as your room is booked it will appear there.

I have no expierence with TA's as I have always booked directly with Disney.

I always have felt that dealing directly with the cruise line you get the most accurate information. Not to mention if there is a problem with the reservation it is either your fault or the cruise lines and both parties are there and cvan try to fix it. Unlike a TA who (could have) made a mistake and is nowhere around.

Not saying they are bad (again I have never used them) I would imagine that there is a fee for the TA tacked on to the cost of your vacation, where as there is not a middle man (or woman) when dealing directly with the cruise line.

Plus I usually book my next cruise when I'm board the ship so I usually get a really good discount.
