Want to book a Dec 'o3 cruise using DVC pts. How far in advance can I call member services and book same?? THX Mike

11 months out is the earlies you can book with your points. By the way, I was born in Duluth, MN and lived in Superior the first couple of years of my live. It is a small world!

And just remember that if you are using cash for part of the cruise cost you will have to pay the total amount at the time of booking...no deposits w/up to 60 days out to pay the balance.

You book with DVC points by calling Member Services 11 months prior to the sail date. At that time you will pay a $75 nonrefundable fee to DVC, too. Any cash portions for your cruise will be do in full at time of booking, too, as mentioned above. Good luck! :)

Also a good thing to note which I did not know until I booked with points:

DVC can book any category that DCL has available as long as it is not in a guarantee status. So if there are available cabins in a certain category, you can book that category. I just booked in April for an August 4 night cruise and I was able to get a Category 8 on deck 7. So you can check the availability on line to see what cabins are available and then you will know what there is that you can book. It will give you a little more information before you call.

We are planning to book a 2004 cruise with points and cash. How does that work exactly? There are 2 adults and 1 child. Do we pay cash for 1 adult and points for 1 adult and 1 child or do we have to use points for the 2 adults and cash for the child??

SCMinnie - You will have to use points for at least one adult. After that it is up to you. And again, remember that your entire cash amount will be due at the time of booking.

Have fun planning!

Thanks Michelemouse- We were wondering how that worked. We wanted to make sure we set aside enough points for the cruise but didn't want to bank more points than we had too.

When booking a DCL cruise with DVC points, the cash price for the adults and/or children will be a pre-arranged price set in the contract between DVC and DCL. Other discounts will not apply.

Also, you can book categories 12 through 4 using DVC points. Categories 1, 2 and 3 are not available to book using DVC points at this time. :D
