Magic bands arrived today for our Dec. 15th trip!:cool1::dance3::yay:

Now I just wish I had confidence in this whole FP+ system, but I DON'T!

Honestly, the FP+ system, MBs, worked fine for us. I used them 6 days in October, 1 in November, the November trip was not really for parks, but we did drop by DHS to see the lights, and less than a week out I got FP+ for TSMM, the only attraction we wanted to do.

They worked for Magic Express, for our doors, for charges, we changed resorts, we had 3 different stays, 3 check ins. Our only disappointments...the GR at International Gateway could not let me charge with the MB...so I had to go back to the room, but my scooter had a glitch, so I was heading back to BCV anyway. My other 'peeve' is that you still need to show something for discounts.

Breathe on my Bobbie! I want your "luck"!!:thumbsup2

We had zero issues two weeks ago. Everything worked perfectly...Magical Express, room entry, park entry, FP+ redemption and purchases. We loved the entire MM+ experience.

Most of the posters who have actually used the bands seem to have loved them, as we did. It is, IMO, those that who have not yet used them and are opposed to the changes that seem to be creating most of the uproar on these boards.

Have a great trip!

I have had two sets of friends return home from Disney vacations and both had HORRIBLE experiences with the MDE, MB, and FP+. Now, granted, both of these are people who have issues following directions so I guess I'm going to have to just be confident that my stuff is finally right.

I am not directing this toward your friends, but I do think that many of the issues are coming from user error. I see lots of posts where people have created multiples of themselves over several accounts, haven't linked to others properly, etc.

Hopefully your experience will be closer to ours than to your friends'. :)

We used our magic bands from 10/31 to 11/10 with no issues at all. From our magic express, charging, FP+, dining reservations! room key, not one problem. Linked our AP confirmation number at home for FP and when I picked up the new AP, all my info was still on the band with all the FP selections.

The only thing I would definitely recommend is a slider for the band. We were at BCV and they gave it to us when we checked in. DD was staying at SS and she did not receive the slider and in leaving MK one night in the crowd, hers came off. She did not have a problem getting a new one and there were no issues with everything she linked but I can see how the slider was an extra security in keeping the band locked.

We have a spring trip for Flower & Garden and I specifically transferred points so all the nights would be one reservation. Trying to make this trip the least disruptive.

So what colors did you get, Diane?

We had an overall great experience with MagicBands in October. Only issue was could not charge @ Flying Fish for dinner. Never found out what the issue was. Had my cc with me just in case of this.

Red for me, green for Dick, blue for our DD and gray for DS. I probably should have gotten pink, but really, it does't matter. Love how they come looking all professional and personalized.:thumbsup2

We had a fabulous experience with our Magicbands and Fastpass+, I am sold. And yes I liked the bling you can buy to put on them.

Thanks for making me feel better about this guys! I think my consternation comes from the fact that I've had so much trouble with the MDE stuff. Last week it bumped my DH off the FP+ passes saying he had too many. Sunday I was able to add him back. I just hope all these changes haven't messed us up.

Ours arrived yesterday also. Don't know how they work, but they sure look cool. DW, who is pretty much "yeah, whatever" about anything techie, was amazed.

This trip is a surprise for DD and her BFF. I think we (us and BFF's parents) will take the girls to dinner and open the MBs there as a way of springing it on them.

The hard part will be telling BFF she's not actually going to WDW (we're going to Universal with them) because her Mom is a schoolteacher who has to be back in school Monday AM and doesn't want her to miss any days! I think we'll let her Mommy handle that one. ;)

Diane - We just booked our FP+ online and had bit of an issue but it all worked out now just waiting for delivery of the bands. have you worn the it for any period of time 'testing' at home? Wondering if it feels bulky or hot. We were considering just looping it on our lanyard or belt loop but not sure if the weight or size will be an issue.

slider? will have to look for those.

Ditto here. Our Oct. 30- Nov.6th trip was our most relaxing ever.

Kids tired? Oh, just sleep in...we already have our FP+. It revolutionized our touring plan and kept us from having to go commando. We are fans!:thumbsup2

I used the magic bands and fastpass back in october when i was there had no problems with my first time using them.

I found the bands very comfortable, not hot, in fact many times I forgot I had it on and I don't where watches or bracelets.

In fact I missed it on the way home.

We had a great time with our bands in October as well. Just got ours yesterday too for our December 15th check in at BLT!! Woot Woot!!

My only complaint with the bands is that they're not the most comfortable, IMO, if you have larger wrists. I ended up taking mine off and just wrapping it around my camera strap which I always carry on me anyway. But no complaints other than that.

They are very light and easy to wear. I would definitely invest in the slider thing (I plan to do that too), since I can see where the plastic notches might come apart easily. I would NOT wear them on a belt loop. I'm quite sure they would come off more easily there.

Perfect holiday colors! Enjoy your trip.
