How entertaining is Boardwalk on a July weekday?

We have been to Boardwalk on off season nights when it was pitifully dull. How is it on a weeknight in July? Once upon a time there was a lot of street entertainment, it was fun to rent a surrey, then hang out with the kids. These days?

These days, it depends. Sometimes it is busy and fun and a great place to people watch. Sometimes it is a real snorer.

You could think that with more guests, it is busier and probably be right. It's always busier in the evening. The daytimes are the slowest.
