we are staying at the cheynne how easy is it to get into paris on the train from the site?also getting back?i would really like to see the eiffel tower

easy peasy! if u don't speak french then the ticket people at the station speak a bit of english. just jump on the train and its just like the london underground really. it's a direct route into paris and then you can change to get wherever you need to.
hope this helps

oh, p.s if you want to get to the eiffel tower you'll need to get off at trocadero. and trust me, you'll be able to see it from there! its an incredible view across from when you exit the station

As Princess Tigerlily said all you do is buy your ticket from the booth at DLRP.

There is one change which drops you off a few minutes walk to the ET. The first view you get of the tower is fantastic - it is awsome.

Its about a 45 minute journey but be prepared to wait longer in the queues for the tower. Its worth doing teh Seine Boat ride as its start is located by the tower.

Pulling yourself away from the parks is well worth it. :goodvibes

i was thinking of doing the boat ride is it expensive?do you have to pay to go up the eiffel tower?you say about the que are we talking silly waiting times

well it depends wat time of year you are going. in the summer it can get silly busy, but other times of the year its not so bad. my boyfriend and i went at christmas two years ago and only had to wait about 15 minutes. i think its about £8 to get up but don't quote me on that. also, it depends if u walk it or take the lift (i know which one i prefer!)
on the way make to disney then stop is labelled Disneyland Resort Paris and has a little symbol of the castle so it will be easy to find ur way home!hehe!

we are going in august so will prob be busy:mad: but i really really want to go up my son is doing french next year so i think it will be good for him yes i would also like to know how much the train is its all money:smickey:

Im sorry but I cant remember what our return train fare was but the ET is priced per level. We only went to level 1 and that was about £6 each. The boat cruise was about £15 each.

We only did the one stop in Paris but your ticket allows you unlimited usage of the underground service so you could do lots more.

The queues at the ET on December 27th were about 1 1/2 hours long (for the lift) and the wait for the boat was about 30 minutes.

Hope that helps :goodvibes

Hi, we went in May. I asked for a mobilis pass, thought we may have problems because I was told that they try to sell you the Paris vista which is more expensive. No problems at all it is 12.10euros for adults and cheaper for children.
We used this site for Info http://www.gisparis.com/paris/paris_subway.htm#4
We didn’t go on the boat but would like to next time, this may help http://www.batobus.com/english/8escale.htm#

We made a big mistake at the tower, we joined the shortest queue after waiting a long time we realised it was for the stairs, the other queues were very long so stayed put, we had 750 stairs to climb, kids were fine but I thought I was going to die (joking) at the second level you pay extra to go to the top I was a bit wary of this but so glad that I went up, the kids loved it, it was one of the highlights of the trip.

Two more sites worth looking at are http://www.concierge.com/destination/paris

Hope this helps

We went for a few days in February and the queues for the ET were horrendous even then. We eventually went up on our 3rd day but very early- just after it opened. We were staying in Paris so it was easier to do this. It was worth it. However remember there are loads of other lovely things to see and do in Paris so if the queues are too long just enjoy standing under the Tower looking up and as someone posted already the view down towards it from Trocadero is fantastic (and even better at night).

Someone has just posted a link to the batobus. Dont confuse this with the trips on the river with commentaries. We always get tickets for Batobus but it is what is says -a bus on the river. It can give you a chance to see some of Paris and gives your legs a rest but can take quite a while to get from one place to another. Look at the map carefully as it only stops at stops on one side of river and then other on way back. So if you want to go for example from Eiffel Tower to Louvre it can take over an hour. The tickets for this however are day tickets so do allow you to hop on and off which the trips on the other boats dont- they are trips with commentary.

We really enjoy going on the batobus when in Paris but it is not a quick option and if you want to get from one sight to another quicky then the metro is the best option, however you cant beat getting a good map and walking.
