it to get from resort to resort?? We will be staying at the Wilderness Lodge and was wondering about getting to AKL to go to Boma for example. We will probably not have a car.
Thanks.

Hi,

It's relatively easy...but it takes a lot of time.

If you want to save time I suggest you take a taxi from resort to resort. Otherwise you generally have to take a bus from your resort to a park or DTD than change for a bus to the other resort.

Thanks for the quick info. I am wondering if I do Boma if I am better off to be at Animal Kingdom then go to AKL to eat instead of that hassel. What do you think? Is that easy to do?

Well, AK is the closest park to the AKL, so that will cut down on your travel time! But then you'll still have to get back to WL and that's when I'd call the cab.

Good idea. Thanks.
It has been a while (2001) since going to AK is it walkable to AKL? or do you take bus?
Sorry for all the silly questions!

When I was there in Oct, I stayed at AS Music, and went to AKL for dinner twice, for Boma and Jiko, one day I was at AK, then went to AKL, ate at Boma, and then went to Epcot, (extra magic hours,) the time I ate at Jiko, I had intended to go to AK, but went to DTD at the last minute instead, then went to AKL, then MGM, then back to AS Music. I always just based what parks I was at aroung where I was eating, for Kona, Ohana, Artist Point, and 1900 Park Fare, I was at MK, and I think the rest of the restaurants I ate at were all in the parks.

We always take a cab when traveling between resorts. Atleast we take a car to get there, it is much easier, shorter timewise. Then we brave the bus system back to our resort if time isn't an issue. We have cabbed from BWI to GF, CR and DTD. It usually is $10-12 cab fare plus tip (atleast it was 2 yrs. ago).

No, you can't walk, you'll need to take the bus.

And no, your questions are not silly!!

These are all great ideas. Thanks Bob P for not thinking they are silly. It took me a little while to decide on the dinning package now it is making me a little crazy to plan all the meals. I have thought about just booking the ones I really don't want to miss and then winging it for the rest. I was hoping if we went at "off hours" it wouldn't be too bad. I don't want to miss LeCellier so I will be making my res. for that one for sure. Still undecided about Boma but hear lots of good things about it.
Thanks again to everyone!

We've gone to Boma on our last two trips using Disney transportation (and toting along a toddler, might I add). We were staying at Pop Century and it took us between 30-45 minutes to return to our hotel.

The first time we went to Boma, we park hopped over to AK in the afternoon for the parade, etc. and then took the bus over to AKL. It took about 5 minutes. After dinner, we were lucky enough to walk up to the bus stop as a Epcot bus was pulling up. We jumped on the Epcot bus and, as luck would have it, the bus turned into a Pop Century bus when we pulled into Epcot. This is the trip that took at max. 30 minutes, but we were very lucky.

When we went to Boma in January, we had spent the afternoon in Epcot and took the AKL bus. It took about 10 minutes. When we were finished, we went back to Epcot (we had a wait for the bus this time) and hopped onto a Pop bus. This trip took about 45 minutes.

If you are staying at WL, you will have more options on which bus to take from AKL. For example, you could easily take a MK, Epcot, or MGM bus (whichever shows up first) and then transfer at the park. Also, another idea to break up the tip home would be to eat at Boma early and then go back to Epcot to watch Illuminations.

Enjoy Boma...it's my favorite restaurant at WDW!!!!!

amarberry---that doesn't sound too bad. Sounds very doable. We aren't in a hugh rush since we have been before and we are there for 6 nights 7 days so that will be plenty of time for us. I am interested in trying Boma. I am sortof picky but willing to try new things to a point. I am just not much of a veggie eater but sometimes when it is mixed in that is ok. Does their food have lots of veggies?
Thanks for the info.
