DS has lots of his own disney dollars to be used towards his account. Im just afraid he may loose his key and someone will rank up lots of charges on it. How possible/probable is this?

your DS should sign his card and the DCL cast members should check signatures, so in theory, if your DS lost his card, the thief wouldn't be able to sign for things.

I know at WDW we HIGHLY stress checking signatures and take credit card/KTTW card safety VERY seriously... but still there is always the person who is careless. My suggestion is to put a limit on the card. You can always add more.

I would get a lanyard to put his card in, that way it is around his neck, so you don't have to worry about it falling out of a pocket. And just talk to him about the importance of keeping track of his card, and if he does loose it, to report it immediately.

But like I said, CM's are supposed to check signatures, and if he did lose it, and someone charged on it, you could challenge the charges because of the forged signatures.

Any time we used our card, the cast member would ask for our stateroom number for verification - it's not printed anywhere on the card but pops up on their terminal when they swipe the card.

I think it would be hard to use as they also ask for your room number before they run the purchase through.

:smooth: They ask for your room number. the room number comes up on the cumputer screen when they scan the card. it is not on the card. Hope this makes you feel better.:bounce: :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce: :bounce:

Um, no one ever checked our signatures at WDW. We didn't even sign the cards because no one reminded us & we forgot.

We didn't sign our cruise ones either. But our cabin # was always verified.

Gillian,

PM me the park names, and any shop names you remember if possible. I would GREATLY appreciate it! I am sorry no one checked, they should have.. but like I said, there are the ones out there that don't bother.. thats why it is important to ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS sign your KTTW card. You lose that at WDW and its like giving someone else a carte blanche to your account.

My key was lost in the pool area on my last cruise. As soon as I realized it I went to Guest Services and got a new card. There was no problem and no one used my lost card. I think it is a common occurence.
