My dad has bilateral knee replacements and I'd really like for him to have a seat during the performance. How early should we line up? Does it make a difference that he'll be on a motorized scooter?
First, the best way to guarantee a seat for CP is to get the meal package. One of the more reasonable packages is Biergarten. You will get a tag and this will give you access to a special line. Scooters have a separate line with wheelchairs for the packages. You will enter first. You can stay in the scooter or not. With a package I would line up 45 minutes ahead of show time for a decent seat and 75 minutes for front and center seats.
If you are not getting a package then line up for the first show which will be on the opposite side from the package deal. You may not get in the first show, but then you will be in a good position to get into the second show. The problem here is the seats that are left have poor views. You could wait at least two hours in this line.
Some people are just satisfied watching from the back outside the theater. Again, not the best view but you can hear most everything.
A more popular narrator will usually back up the wait times even more. Going on a weekday, Monday to Thursday, is usually less crowded.
