How early to arrive before flight home from MCO

When we flew out of MCO this past February the regular tsa line was like nothing I’ve ever seen. It trailed back through multiple sections of the airport. It took about 75 minutes. It was stressful but thankfully we had arrived 2 hours early with no checked bags.

This was a Monday morning after a cheer week at Disney (2/14 to be exact) so maybe it was a unique situation but just be warned that the lines can get crazy at certain times.

When we flew back home in March, I got a notice from TSA, I guess based on our United flight, thst we could actually reserve a time to come through security. And go through the pre TSA line. So I booked a time online, We got there about 930 for a 12 flight, did our bags at United and once we got to security, there was a special line for those who prebooked a time, we were through in about 15 min and had a nice wait in the United lounge. As we entered this special line, the other lines were growing quickly. I looked it up later. Yiu can book a time slot at mco.whyline.com. The time slots are limited and are only available 5 am to 11 am.

^^ Yes, that is a trial program at MCO. Saw some older threads about that recently. I think the idea is to spread out the crowds and having a reserved time lets them do a better job of planning.
