Two travelers, flying on Southwest, departing 11:55am on Saturday, 11/7. We will have boarding passes but need to check bags. We are taking the bus to the airport. Would you choose the bus that arrives at 9:25, or at 10:25? The bus will drop us directly at the SW terminal/location, so we'll just have to walk in the doors. Do you think arriving at the airport 90 minutes in advance of flight time will be sufficient?

Check the airline website. It should tell you how early they want you to check in. I'd rather be too early than get caught in an unexpectedly backed up security line. If you get thru early, you'll have time to grab a bite to eat before you board.

I would take the bus that arrives at 9:25. Check your bags, go through security & then relax while you wait to board.

Good idea about getting something to eat. We have a stop but no plane change in Atlanta, and won't land at MCO until 5:30. It's going to be a long travel day that I was trying to make shorter; I guess I was hoping that things magically had lightened up at Logan and we'd be able to breeze right through!

i'd take the 9:25 one. Last time I flew southwest out of Logan to disney the line was wicked long and barely moved

I would rather be early than late. I haven't flown SW out of Logan but there have been waits of 30+ minutes to drop off bags at JetBlue at Logan and easily 30+ waits for security. Your flight could board 30 minutes in advance. I would much rather have the extra hour waiting then be stressed about it.

I'd take the earlier bus, as I've been stuck on a bus at Logan at the terminal stop before SW's, due to heavy traffic. Sitting there for 30 minutes. I would rather be safe than sorry, as Logan is a very busy airport, especially getting closer to the holidays.

I'd arrive on the later bus. Do they still have curbside checkin? We always have carry on. If they do then go there. We'd never get there that early unless it was Thanksgiving or Christmas. We travel out of Logan yearly.

Earlier for sure. Logan is very busy and the lines are wicked long. We usually arrive 2 hours prior and by the time we get through security with two kids we have enough time to sit for a little bit and have a bite to eat. I would rather be early than late. Plus Boston traffic can be a nightmare!!

10:25. 1.5 hrs is plenty at Logan.

Well then...kaytieeldr just took the questions right out of my mouth!!
If I'm checking bags at Logan I always get there 2 hrs prior to departure. Always.

Here's the original post, with specifics bolded- I tried to make it pretty complete. Bus is from Portland, ME, if it matters; bus arrival time at Logan is what's important, I thought. I just hate hanging around in the terminal on what is going to be a long journey (as we'll be driving to Portland the night before) if 90 minutes at Logan will be enough time.

Well duh........shouldn't even look at the boards until my second cup of coffee!!!! Sorry.
Sat morning is going to be very busy at Logan. I would take the early bus. If you get there at 9:25, you should be checked in by 10. Security can be nasty...so that could take until 10:30 or so. If you arrive at 10:25, it may cut it too close. You would have bags checked by 11, then through security by 11:30ish. Boarding will start about 20 mins prior to departure....too close for me. I would much rather have to sit at the gate for an hour vs running to the gate with 15 mins to spare. And with it being SW, your boarding slot could be gone, if you arrive too soon after boarding starts.

I missed "Saturday" as well! Logan is going to be busy, but unless something highly unusual happens you shouldn't run into too much traffic until Route 1 narrows to two lanes.

Not knowing specifics such as where you are starting our from and if you are staying at a hotel or free w friends but have you thought about driving the extra 100 miles and staying closer to Logan? A number of hotels have stay and park options with a shuttle to and from the airport. It you are already paying for a room in Portland and taking the bus down it could end up being less expensive or pretty close money wise and you could sleep later and not have to worry about traffic in the AM.
