Our family will be staying at Oak Plantation Resort this summer for a few weeks while visiting WDW. We hope to be at the parks for rope drop each morning for optimum touring, but I am wondering what time we would need to leave the resort to accomplish this?

Oak Plantation is located near 192 and Hoagland Blvd. not far from the Super Walmart. Will I need to leave earlier on our MK days to account for the distance and having to park at TTC then ride the monorail?

Any suggestions on which route we should take?

Thanks!

Stephanie :)

We always left 40-60 minutes prior to park opening. This gave us plenty of time for traffic, parking, security, ect.

We have stayed at Oak Plantation 4-5 times in the last 5 years and really enjoy it there. THe rooms are in need of a little updating, but they are clean.

As far as driving time goes, the last time we were there (last April), there was a lot of construction on 192 in the vicinity of the Super Wal Mart (about 5 mins from the resort). This made driving time to MK about 25 mins. There is a back way to get to World Drive, but I can't remember the names of streets. The staff at the front can help you. Having said that, 192 is the easiest way to get there and under normal circumstances shouldn't take more than 15-20 mins.

If you have any other questions, let me know. We are very familiar with the resort>

Have fun!

Thank you for the help Kilee and Willise. Willise, I am glad to hear that you enjoy the resort and have returned many times. Thanks for offering to help with more questions. I have a few.

I have two daughters, ages 7 and 12, that love to swim. How are the pools? Our pool towels provided?

We will be there for two weeks and will spend plenty of time at WDW, but we are also hoping to spend a lot of time relaxing at the resort. What kinds of activities do they offer?

We will be in a 1BR max 4/ private 4. Our girls don't handle sleeping in the same bed very well. Will there be enough floor space if we bring a twin size blow up mattress?

Thanks for all the help. Please feel free to share any other information you would like.

Stephanie :)

Stephanie,

There are two pools of a good size. Neither of them has a particularly "deep" end, maybe about 5' or so. There is also a waterfeature, for lack of a better term. It has water showers, etc for the smaller kids. Towels are provided in the resort. As far as activities go, there is a basketball court and a tennis court. There is a very large hot tub/spa next to the pools. There is an excercise room as well with a minimum of equipment.

The rooms, while adequate may not be big enough for you to put down a twin mattress. Our kids slept in the bedroom while we slept on the pull out couch. You should be able to put a mattress down in the living romm/kitchen area, I guess.

I hope this url will work and it will give you some pics of the resort:

You'll enjoy it there I think.
