We are looking at going to Disney in Feb. 2009. When should I book our hotel? I posted in another thread about buying park tickets 1 at a time and doing it early so I don't have that expense all at once. We usually stay at the Dolphin/Swan (well I usually stay there) DH went with us this past Feb and he wasn't real impressed. The last time we had gone together we stayed at POR which was Dixie Landings at the time. He really enjoyed that. We may think about staying there.

I want to check out some other hotels though. I have stayed at the Dolphin 4 times, Dixie landings, and All Star Music. I do not want to stay at the value resort. You get spoiled staying in teh deluxe hotels.

What do you all reccommend?

If im correct you can not book untill about August of 08 so youll have to wait till then possibly you could think about staying at WL that may be a good comprimise

You can book a room only reservation 499 days from your planned checkout date. Then you can convert that into a package when they come out in August 2008.

So far WL has been my favorite, but that is the only Deluxe we have stayed in. I really enjoyed Pop Century, but the values are a little more difficult with my mom now requiring a handicapped accessible room. We have stayed in the FW cabins and they were really nice, but not really convenient for us. We are going to try out the CR and AKL in December and we are also booked for the ASMu Family Suites for 2 trips we have planned for next year. To me the valuse resorts have better transportation. I would never even consider staying off-site. My goal is to stay at all of the resorts at least for one night, but at least until I find one that is a perfect for my family, which is me, DH, and my mom.

In researching the prices of the hotels in Feb/March of 08 it looks as though it is peak time and the price for POR is $189 a night. I only paid $199 at the Swan this past Feb. So I think I will be staying at either the Dolphin or the Swan. I will also be able to use my Starwood points so hopefully maybe I can get 2 or 3 nights free. I have enough right now for 1 night. Granted it is over a year a way so I will need to take some mini getaway trips to earn some points ;) .

Man I just love palnning for Disney Vacations. I tend to get a little obsessed to say the least. Dh is already sick of hearing about it and we aren't even going for 16 months!
