I've got 3 kids, and I want to make sure they can see. I'm willing to wait while DH takes the kids on rides if it means that they can see it all. No way we can do the 10:30. It's going to be super crowded. (probably 10/10)

We found a spot in front of the reserved seating area and that worked for us. We did the second show and brought a soup bowl to eat while we waited. Bring a blanket to stake out your area. Probably 1.5 hours before would be my guess.

If you want to sit, no kidding, probably 3 hours before the show, people will start putting thier blankets down as early as 4pm and many by 5pm. If you are ok standing 1.5 to 2 hours for the good spots.

It's not that the viewing area will be more crowded than on a normal night, but more people will be planning ahead because of the high crowd level of that day filling the best spots sooner.

There is a lot of great information in the F! Superthread

Thank you :)

Is it worth it to get the premium seat package then?

Did you read about it in the Superthread? It's not a huge time saver, doesn't always give a great view but at least a good one and is not cheap.

I think it's a nice experience, perhaps something you would like to try. If your day is a 10/10 book it one month out.

Eh, I don't know if it's worth it for a 23 minute show:rotfl:

I guess I'll play it by ear and hope for the best. I've been to DL so many times but I've NEVER seen Fantasmic!:sad2:

We went in July and had luck with the light tower trick. Our kids could see standing. I'm not sure where the link tot he light tower trick is though... are you familiar with it? We staked out about 45 min early for that.

I was a bad Diser and did not read the F! sticky before my January trip. I had never attempted to watch it on a weekend before this trip. I thought two hours would be more than sufficient to snag a good spot before the show. I am so lucky that a CM told my to go three hours before.

There was already a sea of blankets laid out when we got there. We found a spot right in the middle. My cousin a dessert run and I went to Pizza Port for chicken fusilli when she came back. We did it on our last day, so we appreciated the break since we stayed at the parks from open until close the two days before.

I think it's worth it, especially if you've never seen it before. It's nice to relax before the show and then pound out a few more hours after.

That is all the more reason why you should see it.

A link to it is in the F! Superthread that I linked above.
Here is the direct link to the Tower Trick thread.

I stongly advise that you head these words from it.
"Some DISers recommend arriving at least 45 minutes to an hour before, since they believe that the "secret" has gotten out and they have found that they're not finding this spot available as often as they used to."

Last time I used this trick, I knew of it, and so did the people next to me on both sides. They weren't just randomly walking up late and finding room next to me.
