Just wondering how many people really get up for rope drop and how many take the "I am on vacation I am not getting up early" route.

We do about half and half. Some days we are up at the crack of dawn, and then there's a few days that we sleep in and don't make it to the parks until about 11:00.

Should do a poll. We are early risers, at least for most of the days. I can sleep at home..................

we get up and go. Then mid afternoon we hit the pool and relax for a bit

We get up early every morning. My kids are early risers anyway, and even though they are always on the go, they are still up very early. On our last trip last year, we were with family members who like to sleep. My kids and I and my mom were up an out of the hotel room before 7:30 each morning. We brought the kids down to swim, have breakfast, sat by the pool. It was great, some mornings they were the only ones in the pool. And they were chosen to wake up the statues that spray the water one morning at All Star Music and got a magical memory certificate. Sometimes it pays to get up early!!

Up at the crack of dawn, and at rope drop. I'm not paying all that money to sleep vacation away! :rotfl2:

Seriously...we do get up early and try to hit rope drop every day. Prefer the early mornings and we generally spend the entire day at the park (3 kids too).
In fact, the kids are usually the ones pushing to stay and not take a break at the hotel. Works for us, but I know some people and kids especially need that afternoon break.

I am an early riser at Disney - - - I usually get up at around 6:30am. I take my shower and get ready and then go get breakfast for DH & DD around 7:30am. I wake them up when I am back with breakfast. The yummy smells usually get them going. ;) We like to get to the park at opening

At home I get to work at 6:30am so I get up at 5:00am everyday so getting up at 6:30am each day at Disney is nothin'!

We were early risers always traveling with late sleepers. Ugh! We would go eat and wait til they got up and they hit the parks together so we never did the morning EMH, but this time. Then they would need a nap about 3-4p and we would stay at the parks until we were done. It is just me and my GF and we never seem to sleep much. So, it will be so much better to get the morning EMH this time. Need to get on Soarin is the main objective.
We always did want everyone else wanted to so and by the time we had free time Soarin was sold out or too long to wait. 3 trips to Disney and no soarin each time. GF says it is first priority.

We get up at about 5 am at home. Sleeping till 6:30 and getting there for rope drop is sleeping late! ;) We always make rope drop. :thumbsup2

1st few disney trips.....hit all the rope drops.....

Now we don't have any more wake up calls.
Since buying DVC I have a much more relaxed approach....we sleep in....drink our coffee......gasp....we might not even make it TO the park.

When I'm there for a week or two, I may get up early two or three mornings and hit all my favorite rides. But for the most part, I prefer to relax and just enjoy being at Disney. I do travel when it's a little less crowded, so that makes a difference too. I think if I were traveling during peak season, I would probably get up early more often. During slower season, you can go in a park at noon, and still be able to FP some rides, and walk on others. During peak season, you can't do that.

This isn't my "first few Disney trips". Been numerous times, but I still like to be there for rope drop, so I am not sure if how frequent a visitor you are really has that much to do with it. Some people are just morning people. I still like to be in the parks early in the morning. We like to relax later in the day when it gets warmer by heading to a resort bar or sitting around the lagoon at Epcot or DTD and having a drink or two, or whatever. But we are always on the move early in the day :)

We always do the early mornings at MK because we can get so much done in the first 2-3 hours that we are there then we take a break;swim and then head back around dinner time. The other parks we don't do the early mornings but we do get there for the rope drop for regular opening days.

I voted for the first option because we ALWAYS hit rope drop. But we NEVER go to EMH. We AVOID the EMH parks like the plague.

I am usually up been down to the hot tub had a coffee showered and ready when my Dfamily wakes up. They think its weird! LOL I dont think I ever sleep I run on pure adrenaline! LOL:lmao:

Get up around 6.30am for the Early enter park. Go to the EMH park too. I can sleep on the plane home!

We don't usually do to the AM EMH, but we're there for ropedrop.

No voting option for me. We don't go to EMH but always go to rope drop at a non-EMH park. We are near the front, if not first, of the line at the turnstyles. We need the extra hour of sleep so no EMH for us.
