How early do I book?

I am planning on a trip in January of 2002. When is the best time to get a good deal on resorts? No codes out this early but dont want to end up w/o a room. Help!!! <IMG SRC="/infopop/emoticons/icon_confused.gif" alt="confused">

if you think you'll end up without one. January is the low season, so they'll probably be plenty of rooms but you can go ahead and book now if you like. The only thing I wonder about is when will they make you put a deposit down? You can always get the room reduced as specials come up. (But always ask a supervisor to be sure) Last year I booked 6 months in advance and got a DC discount 3.5 months later.
