How early can you book?

We are planning on staying at All Star Movies from Oct 14 - 21, 2008. I thought you had to wait until 6 months before your trip, but I though I saw someone say they booked their Oct 08 trip there already! Can I do it now? I think I want a package deal, though. Do I do this through the Disney website or should I do it through a travel agent, or can I just call the resort?

499 days out. You can book your trip through 12/31/08 online; beyond that you need to call.

You can book your trip now and have up to 45 days til your departure to pay it off- kind of like having a vacation on layaway. I always book my own trips right through the disney website.
