We will be staying at another hotel for 3 nights and then three nights at Grand CA. We've never stayed at any Disney property and we wanted to save the best for last. How early can we check in at the Grand California? I realize our room won't be ready, but I was hoping to take advantage of Magic Morning benefits of staying at Disney Property. Is check in less busy early in the morning? Thanks I tried to search this question and did not find a time.

You can check in as early as you want. When you drive up to the GCH, Bell Services will take your bags and hold them for you. You can then go to the front desk and check in. You will get your rooms cards, but your room most likely will not be ready. You can go into DL with your room cards to get in for MM, assured that your bags at safe with Bell Services. If you can receive text messages, they will text you the room number when your room is ready. If not, you can call them, but realize that they guarantee your room will be ready by 4pm. Once in your room, you can call Bell Services to bring up your bags.

I have arrived early enough to check in my bags and make it to MM hours, so it can be done. If you arrive before MM, the lobby should be fairly empty. Later in the morning it gets busy with folks checking out.

OP is right, you can check in anytime you like, I think after midnight would probably be the earliest. One year we trick-or-treated for Halloween and drove down from NorCal, originally planning to get to L.A. around 8a the next morning but apparently we left earlier, had no traffic and a really fast driver because we got there just before 4a still in costumes. The front desk CM was super nice, just asked us if we were checking in for 10/31 or 11/1, we said 11/1 found out we'd get a text when the room was ready. So we slept in the car til MM started, went into the park, then our room was ready just before 11a. If I could talk our driver into it I'd do that again this year since it was great for the rest of us. ;)

Just remember there will be people checking out at the same time. We were checking out at 0630 last August and there were about 10 folks in line.

Thanks for the information. Now hopefully our room will work for my 15 and 12 year old. We have bunk beds and after reading posts I'm concerned they won't fit. The r excited about bunk beds but if they are not twin size I have concerns.

I was under the impression that you can request bunk beds but it does not mean you will get the bunk beds in a standard roomm Y brother had a room with bunk beds and he said they were smaller than twin but did not qualify how much.

When I made reservations through Disney Resorts I thought the agent said we would be booked in a room with bunk beds. I did not request he brought it up. Makes no difference to me but I know my girls like to have their own space but if beds are smaller than twin I think they would prefer a queen bed. We will see at check in. Thanks!
