We have a room only for 2 nights prior to free dining and if I remember correctly check in lines were long the day free dining started. We need to re-check in on Sunday so does anyone know how early I can do this? Say 12:01 am
It really just depends if they have a room ready. I have been able to check in pretty early lots of times, but once I had to wait. The last time they said my room was not ready, but I could choose another that was pretty far from everything.
12:01AM would still be the night before. I think you can check in (but your room might not be ready until later) at 6AM or 7AM. Will you have to move out and move into another room since you can't link your reservations? That would be the kicker.
Checking in early won't mean you won't have to move. You'll have to check out. Then if they decide to leave you in the same room, you'll check back in again. If they decide they need to give the room to someone else (since you can't link the reservations), you'll need to check out - move all your stuff out and wait to check into your new room.
When you check in for the first reservation be sure to mention to the CM that you have a continuing reservation.
You also should have it noted in your reservation that you have a continuing reservation. That way the chances of you having to move to a new room are less.
But since you do have a split stay be prepared to move.

We have a room only reservation before free dining starts so we have two reservations. They are linked but of course there are no guarantees we won't have to move...
