Okay, so do I take my rum and ivory satin and tulle ballgown and wear the pearl tiara to Lumiere's, or is it too much? Nope. Not kidding. I love that dress, but rarely get to wear it--and most likely for good reason... Do you think anyone would notice if I wore it to the Goofy Pool?

I'm only half kidding here--really--can one be too dressed up?

Please try to refrain from making fun of me, as I am already making vicious fun of myself--(hee hee he)

Gettin' out the cruel shoes.:Pinkbounc

Thanks!

GO FOR IT!

I wore two formal gowns last year (and double-dipped one for a night at Palo's, dh got to wear his tux 3 times). We were the only ones at Palo's that formal, but we didn't care.

I paid an outrageous amount of money for a Vera Wang dress on ebay this year - I *had* to have it and I will wear it.

Do it!

Goodfaerie, It sounds lovely. If you'll be sailing on the Magic, then go for it! Why not? You rarely get to wear it, right? Well, how often do you suppose you'll be on the Magic? On formal night, alot of people pull out all the stops and go REALLY formal.

I plan on wearing a full length gown on our formal night and DH and DS are wearing tuxedos. My DD is wearing a Cinderella ballgown complete with tiara and gloves.

I say go for it!! You'll be the "Belle" of the ball!

Thank you for those lovely words of encouragement. I'm taking it to the cleaners today!

Hooray! I still get ta be da princess!

Happy sailing!

On our 3-day on the Wonder in July, I saw several people in formal wear. They didn't look out of place at all. No one is going to know if you are celebrating a wedding, vow renewal, etc., or just dressing up for fun. Go for it!

I wholeheartedly agree! I can't wait to go on the 7-day Eastern so I get to play dress up....too!!!

Where do you the tuxes for your DH and DS?? I would love to do that (and my DH actually agreed!!!)

I wouldn't get too close to Cinderella. She might be jealous and knock you on your butt.

Since you say Lumiere's I assume you're on the 7 night cruise. Why don't you wear it for formal night instead? This way everyone else will be dressed up too :)

Lisa--I'm laughing at the image of Cinderella and myself in a catfight on the Magic. Then again...I think I could take her. :)

Do dress up!!

Think of the wonderful photo you'll have as a souvenier princess:

I think the ball gown might be a bit much for the goofy pool. :D

As for nighttime - go for it. You'll look beautiful and think of what wonderful pictures you'll take.

Hey goodfaerie.

How dressed up is too dressed up?

A few examples:

Wearing a yarmulke at Farrakhan's B-Day party.

Opting for a designer-black ensemble at your local Klan rally.

And definitely sporting a leather outfit in India...

I have an e-photograph of the Dalai Lama stealing the Bishop Desmond Tutu's hat. I wonder if his holiness thought that the Bishop was overdressed...and, by the way, I'm not entirely convinced they were NOT on the Disney cruise.

Counting down until cruise day, but not in base 10!

So here I am cruising the boards and voila, an item I was thinking of posting about appears!!! Then BD gets involved and about makes me tinkle!!! I laughed so hard I scared the dogs!!!

BD - None of the previously mentioned groups meets on the Wonder or Magic do they?!?!?! If so, I will make sure that I am politically incorrectly dressed for them.

Geez, and I was wondering if a beeded top w/ capris was going to be a little too much!!!

Forget it, now I have to get the tiara out to go with them!!!

I believe the words of wisdom are that you can never be too dressed up, you can only be under dressed.

And having been in both positions, over-dressed is much better than ever being under-dressed.

I know the Sunday after proms, the girls wear their dresses to church (and the guys their tux if it was a weekend rental).

I'll vote for taking the fancy dress and turning heads for all the right reason!
