i understand yachtsman is 2 dining credits
But looking at the menu sides are separate from entries
And lobster is $62
Is there a price limit for it to be covered on dining ?
Or can we order anything?

I ate there in Dec. 2 credits. Entree, dessert, and Beverage. I had a steak which came with mashed potatoes. Excellent meal. I was not told of any restrictions to the menu by my server.

The stuff on the menu listed as side items aren't included with the DDP but your entree should come with some sort of side item, just not necessarily the ones listed separately on the menu.

The only entrees typically excluded (any restaurant not just Yachtsman) are ones that state they are "for 2" or specifically state there is an upcharge.

Each entree comes with a basic side. You can pay OOP for one of the premium sides in addition to your regular side.

The lobster comes with risotto, which is absolutely delicious and far from a basic side. To order it separately is about $16, so at the high end of side pricing.

Unless stated the entree and its accompanying sides come with the dining plan. It's the additional add-on items that you will pay out of pocket for. If you're on the deluxe dining plan than you'll also receive an appetizer. When in doubt as your server what's included.

The only meal that requires a surcharge on top of the DDP is the 5 oz Wagyu Strip Loin
Miyazaki Prefecture Marble Score A5 (If using Disney Dining Plan, a surcharge will apply)
$125.00 (I believe it’s a $75 surcharge with the DDP)

Also, any meal for 2 requires 4 TS credits.

So I could truly order a $62 entree?
We're going there in September and I researched it....and for most of the Signatures it seems like for the DP its a $50 cap and you just pay a surcharge for the rest. I want to try the Wagyu beef and that's $125 and the surcharge is $75....at other places like paddlefish that have expensive seafood....looks like the benchmark was also around $50.....but then again the $54 filet at LeCellier is included....so who know's?? Enjoy....I know I will!!!

doing the Happy Dance right now !!!!
Trying to plan everything top to bottom for my son... so Dh is going to love this special dinner for him !
thanks guys

The only entrees that aren't included specifically state that there's an upcharge or the menu will say the meal "serves two".

There isn't a magic number like $50 or anything, for example the cowboy rib eye at California Grill is included and it's $75. Other sigs have seafood and steaks in the $60 or so range. Off the top of my head, Yachtsman, Narcoossees, California Grill, Le Cellier, and Flying Fish all have at least 1 entree included over $50.

Those are all places to consider if you're really trying to max out the DxDDP in value.

Neither of these categories are excluded from the dining plan.

If an item says "for 2" it can be ordered on the dining plan, but will require two diners' credits. At Yachtsman an entree "for 2" will cost 4 credits. As an aside, someone once asked if their son who has a big appetite could order the steak "for two" at Yachtsman just for himself. He could, but it would require 4 credits.

Some restaurants have appetizers "for 2" so if someone is on the DxDDP it can be ordered, but again, it will require 2 diners' credits.

Items for 3 or more like the Kitchen Sink at Beaches and Cream are usually not included, although sometimes a server will let multiple people combine their adult dessert entitlements.

Items with an upcharge can be ordered using dining plan credits, but there will be an additional out of pocket cost (the upcharge).

Yeah excluded was a bad word to use there, thanks for pointing that out so nobody gets confused.

There's nothing stopping anyone from ordering ANYTHING from any menu at WDW, some things just come with an extra cost whether it's monetary or more credits.

Purple figment did a good job explaining how to handle the upcharge items, I just wanted to emphasize that Disney entrees are fairly straight forward and will state if there's any extra cost on an item or if it's meant for more than 1 person (which costs more credits).
