How does the Quarrantine actually work for DVC members from New York?

Well there goes my planned August trip
This makes three cancelled trips for me (March, May and August)

Can anyone top this?

At this point, either it's calculated to limit mass travel in general (which fine, OK), or it's just a tit-for-tat because now we have restrictions in place. But ours are rolling, which makes sense, and theirs is just a blanket for 60 days. Ah well. Supposed to take off 9/20 and I've been debating on cancelling, but this may push me over the edge. I'll wait and see what happens.
This feels not-data-driven, which is annoying. It's one thing to say you need to reopen to keep the economy going, and then restrict in a way that basically prevents lots of people with pent up demand, from a relatively safe state (now), from spending their $ there. Oh well - NYC estimates they lost 1 million jobs in the pandemic, we're not even close to reopening (at Phase 2.5), I guess I'll spend the $ here instead.

Can't top it, but I can tie it: April (DL), June (EP MM), August, so far ... I still have December hanging on ... It was rescheduled from April.

Not three, but late September is pretty darn close to cancellation, and my June Shanghai/Tokyo trip was cancelled. I'm hoping December will be ok. But I'm also nervous for the precedent here, especially with something like DVC where you have to book so long in advance (and there are more penalties for last-minute cancellations). No trips on points this year, but we have a big one we're saving for next November.

So my understanding that i am gathering, someone please correct me if I’m not understanding this right, Disney won’t let you on property to use your DVC owned timeshare? Is that accurate? Because there’s no way that’s gonna fly

Lots of states had poor approaches to COVID. Something like this haven’t happened in a very long time, thanks to vaccines.
Except in this case the response has been blatantly intentional.

Lots of states like NY (and NJ and CT and MA) had horrifying peaks, PPE shortages, and less knowledge of what worked and didn’t as far as treating and preventing spread. one could comment that mistakes were made back in March and April ... but it seems to be some sort of magical thinking that other states weren’t going to get hit if they didn’t take appropriate measures as well. Learn from our mistakes; don’t repeat them.

Our August trip is also gone. We had May, June, July (before park openings were announced), and one August trip that was rescheduled multiple times (once due to my in-laws changing their minds, once due to accommodate a two week gap before the bumped up start of school, and finally cancelled today due to the extended quarantine in FL). The kids missing school was weighing on me in May so I also cancelled our November and December into January trips.

I’m giving it one more shot for Thanksgiving (which I had originally booked and then cancelled due to the kids missing school after this spring). I’m just over 2020 already.

If I fly into MCO from Newark on August 14 for a planned 6 day stay at BLT, what would happen to me? Would there be someone monitoring my actions? And then I'd return to Newark and go through the same thing, not worth it!

Same, we’re flying in a few days before you, EWR to MCO. We have DVC.
I ask myself the same question, what would happen? Are they really going to send agents/officers out to check on us? Is Disney not gonna let us in? I don’t get it.

At this point it's your job that's going to make you quarantine when you get back. So what's the options now? Lie,keep secrets about where you been?. But than you also risk spreading it around after visiting a now hot spot.

So with the extension of the self quarantine until September 5, I think I am canceling September.

Of all the trips I have cancelled, this one is the hardest for me. There still is December.

Glad I did not try to reschedule my May trip to the Fall. When I looked, there was almost no availability so it didn't happen... Now looking at next May...

I'm honestly surprised they didn't revoke the quarantine requirement for tri-state, or at least didn't add one for TX/AZ (where cases are growing exponentially). At this point, it looks like the earliest anyone could go without having to quarantine when you get there is September 5th

If it were data driven, they would have been added. However, it is a blatant “tit-for-tat” move by the governor.

Adding to the risks is losing your job for failing to quarantine

No, once you get there you self quarantine.

I flew to MCO from Connecticut a couple of weeks ago.
When we parked, an agent made an announcement on the airplane, and said she would be giving everyone a form to fill out as they deplaned. She then said the National Guard was by the gate collecting the forms. So, they at least had a record of everyone. Not sure about enforcement. Also not sure that process is uniform across the various airlines.

This is what I was wondering. Can you legally be prevented from accessing property that you own? Common areas are a little different (not sure how much "right" you have to wander about the resort), but I would think you would at least be allowed to be in your room. Now, how much fun that would be is a different story.
