How does the Quarrantine actually work for DVC members from New York?

From the advisory -- "The designated states with significant community spread will be conspicuously posted on the DOH website and will be updated weekly. Please check the site frequently as the information will change as often as daily, as rates of COVID-19 transmission increase or decrease"

Clear as mud -- weekly/daily ??? Anyone care to decipher this paragraph

I had to move my trip. I'm from NY and my trip was on July 12th and we didn't even know if it was going to happen. If the quarantine for people from the tri state area was lifted on July 7th, it would only be 5 days before my trip. Now with New York quarantining Florida, it just made it impossible to go at this point. I'm now going in January! Something to look forward to now!

He has not issued any orders extending it so I assume that means it is no longer in effect traveling to the state.

I don’t know but I think if he was extending his state of emergency order....he would have done it by now....that is what has guided the ending date of this order.

NY just added 3 more states to the list of "must quarantine upon return," and both mine and DH's work will not allow us in until our 14 days are up (or we have a negative covid test 7 days after return). Nothing to do but wait and hope FL gets their numbers down.

I don’t know but I think if he was extending his state of emergency order....he would have done it by now....that is what has guided the ending date of this order.

On March 9, the governor issued Executive Order 20-52 declaring a state of emergency for the entire state due to COVID-19. The order was set to expire on Friday, May 8.

Executive Order 20-114 extends Executive Order 20-52 by 60 days until July 7.


STATE OF FLORIDA OFFICE OF THE GOVERNOR EXECUTIVE ORDER NUMBER 20-82 (Emergency Management - COVID-19 - Isolation of Individuals Traveling to Florida)
Section 4. This Executive Order shall expire upon the expiration of Executive Order 20-52, including any extensions, or upon an Executive Order lifting the isolation or quarantine after advice from the State Health Officer and Surgeon General.

I'm honestly surprised they didn't revoke the quarantine requirement for tri-state, or at least didn't add one for TX/AZ (where cases are growing exponentially). At this point, it looks like the earliest anyone could go without having to quarantine when you get there is September 5th

At this point, either it's calculated to limit mass travel in general (which fine, OK), or it's just a tit-for-tat because now we have restrictions in place. But ours are rolling, which makes sense, and theirs is just a blanket for 60 days. Ah well. Supposed to take off 9/20 and I've been debating on cancelling, but this may push me over the edge. I'll wait and see what happens.
