I have a dvc bwv standard studio booked, but needed one more day. There were none available via dvc. So I booked bwv standard studio using an AP discount. Is there a dvc member discount I should consider instead? Thanks.

I have an AP and didn't even think about that discount. I'm in a similar situation. Last week I had to move my vacation one day ahead and wanted to stay in same studio on last day, but no points rooms were available. I called MS and booked a room with 25% DVC discount. I was also put on a waitlist so that if the room did become available I would be refunded the cost of the room and points would be applied for the stay. The waitlist is up to a week before arrival. So either way I have the extra night. Saved some some money with DVC discount, and hopefully will save more if waitlist comes through. Good luck, I'd call MS tomorrow and ask which would give you a better discount. I doubt you'll find more than 25% though.

Unless you booked your stay through Member Services, you will have to change rooms between the cash stay and the points stay. Those who book through CRO/DRC aren't really booking the DVC standard view villas, even though the cash reservation says standard view. What you really get is "run of the house". That means that the resort can (and will) put you anywhere they can fit you in. Almost always, that means in the category that DVC calls Pool/Garden.

Call MS and see if there is a member cash discount available for the night you need. (AP discounts are not available through MS). Member discounts may not be available for standard view and if not, you will still have to move if you book one for Pool/Garden. Ask what they are giving you before you actually book.

If MS can book you a cash standard view, and you choose to book that, you will not have to move and the stay will be treated as one continuous stay by the resort. Sometimes MS can give you a 25% discount from rack for the cash bookings they make, but it is not always available.

Good luck!
