How does the DAS/handicapped system work now?

We are going to DLR in 6 weeks :cool1: and I'm wondering how the DAS (or whatever the name is currently) works now. We were last there in October 2014, and my DD had a DAS due to her spina bifida. She just had foot surgery in September, so she will be in a wheelchair for this trip because her foot won't be ready for that much walking. I will be in an ECV due to a knee injury. Now my husband (who has to push my DD's wheelchair) has Achilles tendonitis and is having pain walking. Basically, we're a mess! :goodvibes I know how the wheelchair system works and that they won't give you a DAS with a wheelchair. Do we basically just go to each ride and they will either accommodate us or give us a return time? I am used to taking DD's DAS to a podium and getting a return time when I wasn't going on a ride with them (which is a lot of them due to back and neck problems). Also, can my husband get a DAS so that he won't have to stand during WOC, etc? I know they want you to get a wheelchair or ECV, but he can't due to pushing my daughter. Thanks for any input!

DAS is only issued now for non-mobility issues. You will go to the exit of non-accessible rides, and they will give you a ride time. Rides like Matterhorn which are accessible, you will go thru the queue to the point where it is no longer accessible and they will direct you there where to go.

OK, thanks! Is there any hope of the issuing something for my husband in our situation, do you think?

The only thing I can see here is talking to Guest Services about your specific situation. Be nice and patient when explaining and hopefully guest relations will be able to accommodate your party somehow! And you're right in that you don't need a DAS if you're in a wheelchair or ECV.

When you get to WOC, I am sure if you just explain the situation, it will be handled appropriately.
