Our first day at MK will be Sunday, July 7th. I think there is the ticketed early magic hours that morning. How does rope drop work when that's going on? That wasn't around the last time we went to WDW.

It will be the same as a regular 9am park opening day.

Main Street opens to everyone around 8am, you’re free to shop/roam around up to the castle/Hub.

PhotoPass photographers are usually out, as are Main Street vehicles at times.

The opening show will be at the Castle stage at 8:55am, after which the park will open.

Hope that helps!

The amount of tickets they sell for EMM is pretty small, so although there will be some people inside the park already when the rope drops for everyone else, it really doesn't change things much at all.

Nothing changes. Rope drop is rope drop. Yes there will be people in Fantasyland already, but they have done the rides they want to do and will probably be moving on to other areas in the park. Just show up early, be at the front and get to that first ride on your list. Have fun!
