Hubby will not ride in a shuttle/bus/taxi or any sort of transportation when someone else is driving. (I'm just happy that I got him to agree on the airplane!). So, we are planning to rent a car to get from SNA to the hotel. From what I can tell, it's a better deal to rent one for the entire 5-day trip than it is to rent one for the arrival and departure days for one-way trips. So, I'm trying to figure out what the parking situation is at the Disneyland Hotel. I couldn't find any info on the website. I would call, but I just got off the phone with them and didn't think to ask about parking.

TIA!

What exactly are you trying to find out about parking there? There is a parking lot near the tower where you check in (Magic Tower), and a very small one back by the Wonder Tower. You can temporarily park near the hotel to check in and take your luggage to your room and then park in the long-term parking lot, or you can take advantage of valet. Valet is $17 per night, I think. Parking is included in the resort fee, which is added on ($12 per night, including tax) when you check out, or included in the package fee if you purchased a package.

Yep, just drop your luggage in the front and then go and park. No big problem at all. :)

The DLH parking is all outdoors, and you can drop your stuff off at the front like a PP said. They have a 20-minute lot for check-in and dropping bags. BTW, the Wonder lot has 18 spaces in it, so don't count on parking there! They swipe your room key to get in and out of the lot (which is basically north-north-west of the hotel complex) while you're a guest.

Thank you all for the information! Do I understand correctly that there is not an additional charge for parking our rental car, because I would have paid the resort fee anyway?

You are correct - there is no additional charge for parking (unless you use Valet parking, which is $17/day!) - self-parking is included in your resort fee. You WILL need your room key to exit the lot, though. I've had problems with my key working at the gates a couple of times, so I usually go out one of the manned exits - just show the CM your room key.
