How does online check-in work?

I am not familiar with this. When and how can you do it?

10 days before your arrival you can check in online. If you have specific room requests some people do in-person check-in instead. But we've always had general requests and have done online check-in the last 2 times. Both times there was no line and we were done within 3-4 minutes because the keys, parking pass, and folder are ready before you arrive. Online you can also set up a credit card to use during your stay, which means you can do express checkout and avoid the front desk when leaving.

Disney will usually send you an email alerting that you can do online check in. You can do it starting 10 days before your check in date. You just click a couple of things, put a credit card on file if you wish, and it supposedly streamlines the check in process when you get there. There will be a separate, specially marked line for people who have done online check in.

I almost always use it and it seems to save time since they have all your information right there and your info packet ready. The line, if there is one, is usually shorter than the regular check in line.

Some people don't like it, some do....it's up to you to try it or not. I think it does save a few minutes so I use it.

We have used online check-in since its inception. We love that it takes only minutes to grab our packet and go. We are usually on our way to the parks inside of 10 minutes of arrival at the hotel if our room isn't ready yet. They text or call your cell when it's ready to let you know the room number.
