We've never eaten there, but are planning to this Oct. My friend asked me how you are served, as it isn't a buffet. Is it family style/all you can eat, or do you order a main course? Do past diners find there to be enough of a variety? Not that we're a bunch of chow hounds, just curious as to the dining experience. Oh, and what is the max. seating at one table, we will have 7. Okay, let me have it!

Let me see...

First you sit down and they bring out appetizers. If there is something you like, ask for more. Then they bring out entrees (mainly meat) and again ask for more if you like. Just like a standard family-style buffet.

As for seating, the tables are pretty big. We had 7 last time we were there and were very comfortable.

As mentioned above, your server brings each course out and you can get as much as you like. Fried wontons (like chips) and dipping sauces, salad, peel and eat shrimp, beef, pork, turkey, veggies, potatoes and banana foster type dessert. The kids can get a different meal if they like. We all found plenty to eat.

Forgot to add, if you like make your ressie prior to fireworks and ask for a table in the main room near a window-great view and they play the soundtrack during the show. Or go prior to wishes, watch from the beach at the poly.

I can understand forgetting the sausage, but the WINGS? :rotfl:

We had 9 in our party, it was a little odd because they pushed 2 round tables "together" so we had a figure 8. Took a little getting used to, but once the food came it didn't really matter and we really enjoyed it.

LOL I knew I was forgetting somethin!!! I was too busy with the shrimp to notice the wings and sausage!!! LOL

my husband is a fineky eater and will not eat anything with garlic, onions, scallions, etc,....so what kind of potatoes do they have at Ohanas and get you ask the chef for just a plain baked or plain mashed????? And at all restaurants when do you tell the chef that you need special food minus onions, etc. for my husband? Do you call prior in the day or tell him/her when you are seated? :sunny:

The best thing I can say about Ohana is that we got to watch the fireworks. We were not impressed with the food at all.

Here is a pic of the potatos: The potatos have onion in them. If your husband is allergic you should have it noted on your ADR and be sure to remind them when you get there.
