How does it work with more than 1 contract?

For those who own at multiple properties how does it work?


If one owned 150 points at BWV and SSR each, when could they book? Can they use all 300 points to book at BWV 11 months out? OR would they have to wait until 7 months out to use all 300 points at that resort?

Welcome to the DIS and our little community for DVC.

You get home resort advantage only with the points at that resort. In your example you have home resort advantage for 150 points only. You can transfer your points from one contract to another, but they are supposed retain their original home resort and use year status. At 7 months you can use your points at any of the resorts.

If you needed all the points you could borrow the next year's from the resort you want to book at to get the 11 month window. You would probaly then want to bank the alternate resort into the next year and have 300 available for then. You could also book a split stay between the resorts and then try to change at the 7 month window to the one you really want adding to that reservation. Good luck with your planning.

We have 4 contracts. Two of them are at the same resort (OKW). We have the following:
OKW 310
VERO 200
BCV 150

Pretty much we stay at our home resorts. We have enough points to book 5 nights at OKW or BCV, depending on unit size and time of year. We do borrow some but not much. I book the week at OKW and then the week at VERO and book Fridays and Saturdays between with BCV cause we don't mind staying there. And, if at 7 months we decide we'd rather stay in a studio at either OKW or VERO we have the points to at least get into the studio portion of our two bedroom.

OKW - 240

VWL - 60

I have enough in my smaller contract for a studio (5 day) stay in off-season.

but that is what I wanted!

I love to go in Dec. One year I couldn't get VWL for Dec no matter what I tried. So I brought it.

I have owned BWV since it was new.

I love it for a studio for the food/wine festavial, Thanksgiving (enough points for a standard view) or Dec.

for everything else it is OKW. Besides my family loves OKW....
