How does it work on magic bands with a split stay?

What happens with magic bands when we do a split stay?
Say we do a split between POFQ and BC.
We stay at POFQ first and add all our park tickets to our first reservation.
If we get two sets of magic bands for each reservation then do we link them together?
Will the park tickets and BC reservation carry over for our second stay? Has anyone had trouble with this getting all mixed up or the magic bands not working?

You get two sets of MBs and they can be used interchangeably. The bands are simply a "key" to all the information in your MDE account, so it doesn't matter which band(s) you use during your entire visit.

Glitches do sometimes happen, and some CMs like to blame multiple MBs on it. I don't believe them. Because glitches happen. They fix it, we all move on.

The one thing you do need to do is go through the checkout process at the front desk from the first resort, if you're going to check in to the second resort before official checkOUT time. First resort needs to do the stuff on their end to make it easy breezy for checkin at the next resort.

So would it be a good idea to wait until after 11:00 to check into the second resort since checkout for the first resort is 11:00?

No, just make sure that you go to the front desk when you leave and say you are checking out of the resort so they can deactivate you at their end. But if you forget, the new resort can actually check you out of your old resort. Just adds an extra step for them.

OK thanks!

We are staying 4 nights POR & 6 nights WL. We were thinking about checking out of POR early on departure day and going early to check in to WL. Would we have a better chance of changing rooms if we don't like the location if we ceck in early? How would checking in from home affect our chances?

It's not going to matter if you go early to WL nor will the on line check in make a difference. If you check in early, there is a chance they will have your room ready a chance they won't. I usually check in around 7:30 in the morning on split stays and my room has only been ready once. Another time they knew the room number and told me but it wasn't ready. Another time they knew the room number but would not tell me. If the room isn't ready you aren't going to know the number any earlier if you check in early. If you don't like the room, your odds of getting a different room are just the same no matter how or when you check in, it depends on if they have something else.
