2 Trumps on stage would be interesting!Just curious how the Hall of Presidents handles non-consecutive presidential terms?
Does the narrator call that out, somehow?
Also, is it likely that Disney will make a new animatronic for 47?
Yeah, DH just suggested they switch the heads and program a new speech. LOLI think they will just use the existing animatronic and just program a new speech.
I suspect that's exactly what will happen this time.Just watched a video of the HoP, and they only say Grover Cleveland once: Arthur, Cleveland, Harrison....McKinley
Thanks. I stand corrected. In my mind I was seeing them come back twice in numerical order.Just watched a video of the HoP, and they only say Grover Cleveland once: Arthur, Cleveland, Harrison....McKinley
They might need to adjust the latest one a bit, since he'll be a former and the current president, and would be announced last - didn't have to worry about that with Cleveland. I'm sure they'll figure it out, and it'll save them money on a new figure.Just watched a video of the HoP, and they only say Grover Cleveland once: Arthur, Cleveland, Harrison....McKinley
Looks like the article was written prior to the election. Interesting their different takes on what might (should?) happen depending on who wins. We'll see what happens, but I personally think it would be really cool if Disney finds a creative way to handle this unique situation.Blog Mickey posted about this as well…
The Hall of Presidents Is Changing in 2025: Let The Speculation Begin
Curious to see how they handle it.
My family was in the MK today and we visited the Hall of Presidents.I agree. I also always liked the way it was presented. It's about history. But probably in the last 20 years or so, the disrespectful cheering and jeering has made it so we don't even go to the show anymore. It's sad and annoying. They're robots - sit, listen, and enjoy the show.
This year will definitely be unique - only happened once before. And if the results had gone the other way, it would have been even more unique and historic! But Disney's had a pretty good idea about who their animatronic options/choices were going to be!! I'm sure they have a plan that will be implemented in 2025..... With the 250th coming up, maybe they'll do something a little different or special......
In the long run, I think that would be a good idea. We need a little bit of distance to decide which leaders were truly "historical" and deserving of a "call out" or "speaking role." Disney can stay above the politics of the moment while still celebrating our American history and democratic institutions.Simple, just go back to introducing the Presidents and not have the current one have anything to say at all. It worked well that way for years and can do so again. There is no need for it to change whenever we have a new one. He can just be introduced twice. I'm at the point that I don't give a damn one way or the other.
That said, it would be terribly tone deaf for Disney to announce that change after the results of an election are known. If they were truly planning to do that, it would have been far more appropriate to make that announcement at the D23, or, ideally, before any of the candidates announced their run for office.
