I have booked standard half board meal aswell now, it says a starter, main course, dessert etc at certain restuarants how can i find out what we can actually choose on the menus before we go and if we want something that is on the menu but not included and pay the extra how do they work it when i've paid £13 but the prices are in euros? Hope this makes sense, i'm liking the sound of Annette's diner the first night and Cafe Mickey or The Lucky nugget Saloon for second night for DD's birthday and pay the extra.

Hi there!

If you look at these two websites:

Magical Kingdoms

DLPfoodguide

At Annettes it is the set menu, plus a side and a drink with the Standard and you can choose a range of burgers. I don't know the face value of them but I'd say it was around 20 euros but I'm sure someone will give you the real amount.

Can I just say if you're planning on eating at the Lucky Nugget, have a look at upgrading to HB Plus.
We're planning a meal at the LN, that's 3 adults and 1 child and it is cheaper for us to upgrade to HB+ than to book standard HB and use the vouchers at face value and pay the balance at that meal alone. It's a little time consuming but it's well worth spending the time on a bit of number crunching on this one. Notice that you've also mentioned Cafe Mickey as this one is only covered by HB Premium, I'm 99% sure that it'll be more cost effective to upgrade, (although you will still need to add extra cash), even if you then decide to eat at the standard HB restaurants for the rest of the trip, although to be honest, you might as well look at the other options then.

Hope this makes sense.
Jill. :)

Thanks for your advice, i think Lucky Nugget will be good for us for DD's birthday because it's in the park, do you know how much it is too upgrade to HB+ and what characters are there and also can i book a birthday cake for there aswell? Sorry for so many questions.

Just found on my other thread the cost of the upgrade it's only £5 each so definately worth doing, thank you.

These vouchers are well worth it. I am just back and upgraded to premium. The H/B+ will cover The Lucky Nugget to pay on the day would cost E30 adults and E15 child so you do save some money.

On Thursday there were 2 children who had birthday cakes but I do not know how to organize these.

You can request the cake when you make a reservation, when you do this is upto you, some people like to organise it before the hol via the dedicated reservations number, which is on here somewhere, but you can just as easily do it whilst you're there from your hotel room via the phone, at hotel reception, City Hall or at the restaurant itself.
I'm not sure though if you could just turn up at LN and request a cake with the meal, but I'd really recommend pre booking the LN as it does get busy. DS did say he didn't want a cake, but as it's my Bday too, I might get it for myself. :rotfl:

if u want a cake - book it from the uk - as it is £15 for a cake, but if u order in dlrp it will cost u €22!!
if u book before u go - when u arrive ull be given a voucher, and u need to either go to city hall, or book at ur hotel and choose where u want the cake & what day/time. then when u pay, u give them the voucher!!

hope that helps - and the cakes are lovely, our 2 (lol) were sponge with chocolate creme filling!! and they lasted for a month after the visit!!! (not long finished 2nd!)

Good point :thumbsup2 - I'm going to ring nearer the time to add on our HB so do I order the cake on the same number and pay for it at the same time ?
Last time I just did it through the reservations line and paid for it at CM.

i originally phoned the reservations and thats what they said to me - but i was curious and cancelled that, then phoned the number thats on the email booking form to amend ur booking (which is the one u use to add hb) and i paid for it straight away - either added to the card used to pay for the holiday, or another card!! much easier - and of course cheaper!!!!;)
