How does craigslist.com make any money?

I have barely visited the site but I never see any ads.... Do they charge to list?

They charge Washington, DC employers $25 per ad as well. I work for a nonprofit and wish that they would waive the posting fee for nonprofits.

Maybe that is why they don't need to charge because of that domain.
