How does a split stay work?

Given all the changes, has anyone done a split stay? We are considering starting onsite and then moving offsite. The offsite part is already certain as we are staying with family at their condo. We are going early to have extra park time. We are debating on or offsite. If we stay onsite:
1. What happens when we move off site? Do we still use magicbands? If we link our tickets initially, will there be issues after we move offsite?
2. Can we book FP+ for our full ticket or just onsite days?
3. If we add days after we get there, will that create issues with FP+, MB, or anything else?
Thanks for the help. Too much in flux!

I have been wondering the same thing. We will be staying onsite for 4 nights then off site for 8 nights, with 8 day tickets. I have not bee able to figure out how the magic bands and FP+ will work on our off site days. Any insight would be most welcome.

OP especially since your ticker says when your trip is 4 months is a LONG time from now in the ever changing world of MBs FP+ etc No one, not one person here, is going to be able to give you an absolute answer on how that will work for you At this point I'd be willing to bet that even Mickey hasn't figured it out completely yet

Yes, you are probably right. However, does anyone know how it works currently for those with split stays?

Currently, you would be able to do FP+ in advance even after your check out assuming you have a valid ticket for the # of days you reserve FP+.

I was able to reserve FP+ for long after checkout using the MDE app after we had upgraded to APs.

That may be why though apparently it works this way with AP holders once there has been a resort stay
