How does a baby fit into automatic gratuity?

If a baby (1 year old) is the sixth person on our reservation, will we get charged the automatic 18 percent gratuity even if the baby doesn't order anything?

Yes, the baby does count and you will get charged. The baby does take up a space and they must be counted due to fire codes etc.

Agreed. The baby counts as the sixth person even if you don't order off the menu for him/her.

Sorry to say that yes you wll be charged the auto gratuity, even though the baby doesn't order anything.

Gratuity is based on the people at the table, not who is ordering.

So they still count.
