My dd and I decided to play Candyland but I we can't figure out how you win. (We lost the instructions a long time ago) Is it the person who gets to end first? Or is it the person who gets the purple card? I have no idea and can't find seem to find the rules online. Such a silly question but we are stumped. :confused3

It's the person who reaches the end first.

Have fun playing!

Edited to add: Since you lost the rules, I'll give you a brief synopsis. You take turns picking a card off the top of the pile. If your card has one of a color, you move your man ahead to the next occurence of that color. If your card has two of the same color, you move it ahead to the second occurence of that color. If you get one of the special cards, you move your man ahead or behind to the same spot that has that picture. If you hit a spot that has a "bridge", you move your man across the bridge as a shortcut. The last spot on the board has a rainbow, so any color card will land you on that spot.

I knew I could count on you guys! Thanks!! :cheer2:

Say, "Hey look the Goodrich Blimp"...then move you piece to the end.

Doesn't matter who wins - just so someone wins quickly.
Candyland was always torture for me when my kids were litte. Almost as bad as Chuts & Ladders - never failed, I be out in the lead about to win & down a chute I'd go.

Candyland and Chutes & Ladders are a rite of parenting that somebody needs to GET RID OF!!! ;)

I swear, the day my DD grew out of those games was the happiest day of my mommy-life. They were just like water torture - slow, agonizing and just when you thought they were over - "let's play again!"

When I become a grandma, my only rule will be "No CL or C&L in grandma's house". :yay:

I like candyland, but omg, chutes and ladders goes on forever.

LOL! I guess I read this too late. My mom is giving DS both candyland and chutes & ladders for Easter!

All I can suggest, is lots of good snacks and background music - anything to take away the pain of playing the games. ;)

first you hide the Kristina cinderella (whatever she is called) and the candy cane cards . bring out the kristina cardwhen you want the game to end.
and NEVER the candy cane unless you like torture. :teeth:

Or if you're unlucky like me, your child designs his own version of the candy cane card, "so we can STILL play!" ;)
