Okay ya'll, this is going to be my first trip to DL with my DS on baby food. I'm planning on taking his cereal/fruit into the park in small gladware containers. What I can't figure out is how to wash the gladware, spoons, and baby bottles. :confused3 Anyone have any great ideas? We are staying at PP.

Thanks!;)

Just bring a teeny bottle with dish soap, and wash them out in the bathroom. I would bring a bottle brush for the bottles... I have had more then a few go chunky on us!:lmao: You could use a plastic container from the travel section at Walmart.

I'd get the playtex bottles with the plastic liners so you only have to wash the nipples and rinse the plastic holders. Stock up at the dollar store on containers that I wouldn't feel guilty throwing away. Minimizing the dish duty. What must be washed can be done in the bathroom sink. See if you can get a couple of samples of dish soap so that you don't have to worry about it leaking while traveling. Layout the nipples to dry on a clean wash cloth overnite and repeat the next day. You could probably even get away with one baby spoon too. Just wipe it with a baby wipe after use and rinse it well with some bottled water.

We haven't used the Baby Center in 6 years, and I'm not sure if it even still exists, but back when my youngest DD was a baby/toddler, we used the Baby Center that was sponsored by Carnation (now Nestle?). It was fantastic!

My DD loved her milk and cereal, and would suck up so many bottles a day. It was nice to use the sink and dish detergent at the Baby Center to wash and restock her bottles. There were also nursing rooms, high chairs, diaper tables, and little toilets for little people. The staff at the Baby Center was terrific, sanitizing everything after each use. One staff member even gave me a free can of Carnation formula because my little chubby milk guzzler had eaten up all of hers.

If my memory is correct, I think the Baby Center was located near the Plaza Inn on Main St.

I actually just used the baby center in October at CA and it was WONDERFUL, but I never thought of using it to wash the bottles etc. Great idea, I'll definitely check that out.

I know this really shouldn't be that difficult, but in my head it is. I guess thinking of all the 500 extra things I need to take along has my head spinning and adding dish soap just seems to push me over the edge. I'm used to traveling to DL with DS 3 who doesn't require much and now it seems my packing list has tripled in size. :headache:

The baby center is still there. I also bring a dish towel for the hotels to dry everything on. As far as in the parks, just wipe it out as best as you can with some napkins and water. When you get back to the hotel, use the dish soap as someone mentioned, and air dry all night on the towel.

It's really quite easy. My son is almost 16 months, and I bring the toss n' go spoons and forks for theme parks. I TRY to keep them, but no big deal if they get tossed :) Target always has really good clearance prices on sippy cups, bottles, and cutlery for babies (look at the end of the aisles). I get my son's plastic sippy cups for a dollar!

Don't stress and have fun!

Will your hotel room have a microwave? It seems like you could heat water in one of the large size gladwares and use that as a dishpan. Careful with what you wash in a bathroom sink because the drain is *not* designed for solids and may clog. Unpleasant for the staff and embarassing for you. dump grey water in the toilet when you're done.

I have used baby wipes to wash the spoons and a napkin to dry them. I also used the Playtex bottles with liners because they are so much easier to clean. Another useful thing I always had in my diaper bag was a disposable diaper pad. They are made by huggies and are rubber lined so changing baby anywhere is a breeze.
Have fun!
