I guess you could say we pretty much wing it. DH & I do not have any children, so we typically spend our days at the resort, enjoying the pool and then go to the parks in the late afternoon and stay until closing. The only plans I make are for dinners. Depending on what day is which restaurant I plan our park visits around that - e.g. 'Ohana dinner is a MK afternoon/evening, Via Napoli is an Epcot afternoon/evening, etc.
This all changed when we brought our young nieces with us last February. It was their 1st time at WDW so we definitely planned 90% of the trip. Next February we're bringing them with us again, so they'll be lots of planning involved!
