we're leaving in two week and we just recieved our package last night with all our tags/voucher ... SO what happens now ?? You say goodbye to your TA and thank you and that's that??

Do companies like Dream Come True or Dreams Unilimited get commision from Disney? How do they get paid?

What do you do for your TA especially when you know you will be using them again to plan your next trip?

I say "Thanks" and that's it. That's their job. They get commission.

Of course, I don't use a TA anymore.

Ditto.

Although we rarely use TA's either. I suppose if I used one often, I might send her a postcard with an additional thank you, or send a letter to the owner/manager if she went above and beyond. I find that I can get better info and better rates on my own most of the time, though, so I don't usually come away feeling that I need to do more than say thanks.

After 12 Disney trips, I've decided, it's much easier to do things on my own. I don't have to worry about return calls or mail deliveries from TA, that are from Disney. Do everything direct - Much easier.

Best way to thank a good TA is to reccomend them to family, friends, and colleagues. Thank them with more business.

I look in the mirror and say thank you!!!!...or We're going to Disney!!!!! :rotfl2:

I agree with wee-haggis - we are constantly recommending Magical Journeys to friends and co-workere!!! Sending more business their way is a great way to say "thank-you" for excellent service!!!

Deb Kuntz of Your Magical Journeys was so great. I must have changed our dining ADRs at least ten times, yet she never complained and took care of them promptly each time. Every time I e-mailed her with a question she responded almost right away. She saved me tons of time from being on the phone with Disney Reservations, and I can't thank her enough. Please consider Deb if you ever need a TA.

My TA at Magical Vacations was very helpful and great to work with. I sent her a postcard from the Poly and a box of Godiva chocolates as a token of my gratitude for her hard work.

A lot of the Disney TA's at Magical Vacations and other agencies go above and beyond to make their clients' trips extra special. I think that a small gift in recognition of top-notch service is always appreciated and appropriate.

I think Ive become to controlling over my vacations but when I seem to know more about where Im going I would rather do it all myself. So I thank myself by having another great vacation. :earsboy:

Sue Ellen with DU and I have such a special relationship that I will go ahead and book the trip myself then turn it over to her so she gets her commission from Disney. She has gone above and beyond her normal duty so much for me, changing reservation dates/hotels, cancelling for me during a major crisis (death of my father the day before we were set to arrive), getting eveything refunded for me from that trip. She does so much for me. I recommend her to everyone I know, plus I continue to book through her. Thanks to her we have made 4 trips to "the world" since February, all handled by her and the DU crew. She and Penny have also managed to change my existing reservation for April '06 over to BRP for me and then, after my email to her on Tuesday night after our return she got the April hotel changed for me too. I love having all the anxiety taken off of my hands. I have actually thought of writing to Dreams about how wonderful the entire group of folks were.

I agree with everyone who says that the best thanks is a recommendation. Denise with Small World has been a wonderful agent to us so I recommend her and Small World at every chance I get. Also, letting the owner know when you've had great service is always a good thing. Too often I think they only get to hear any bad stuff (this goes for any business) :dog:

Just say thanks and if you like them you use them again. Trust me, they are being well taken care of through Disney.

I have to say some of my best thank you's are emails from clients (2-222 sentences) letting me know what a great trip they had, a particular highlight or 2 and maybe something new I recommended that they loved.

That's how I get to feel like part of the magic.

They get paid a commission from Disney.

First, just by using them again is a big thank you! They appreciate the repeat business.

Second, refer your friends, family, co-workers - mention your agents name to them - again, they appreciate the business. Ask your agent or agency for business cards that you can use.

Sending a postcard is great, or a photo of yourself having a good time - some will post it on their websites, with your permission, of course.

Give them a trip report - many Disney TA's are in the business for the love of Disney, and they live vicariously thru the trips of their clients.

Michael

PS. Some agencies have referral programs that pay you for referring your friends - ask your agent if they have such a program, you may be able to earn money towards your next trip.
