I have received emails telling me that someone has answered a thread that I am "subscribed" to and when I check my user CP it says that I am subscribed to a specific forum. However, I have not pressed anything or "subscribed" to a forum? How does this happen? Is it automatic?

Thanks for any help.

down at the bottom of the page, right under, NEW THREAD, on the left side, it says, Subscribe to this thread. If you didn't click on it on purpose, you probably clicked on it by accident.

I'm only subsrcibed to this forum, and I did so by clicking on the little link. I'm sure there's an unsubsribe button/link, but I have no need to do such.

Thank you for the responses. I knew of the links, but don't recall pressing them. But then again, I type so fast, that I might of.

Thanks again!

heh...I found out the hard way!!! It's automatic for my account. Like today, I checked the messages at 6AM before I headed off for school and when I got home around 3PM I had 24 new messages!!!

I swear like 90% of my inbox space is used by the e-mail notifications! I'm just too lazy to delete them all. :)

I wasn't subscribed to the thread but then realized under "options" my e-mail notification box is checked. emails sent to you whenever someone replies. Only registered users are eligible.

Nina - who wants to go bk to Universal and figure out who Dark Marauder is. lol

Everytime you answer a post - you are subscribing to it. If you want to subscribe to a post that you are not answering you can click the subscribe button. But by answering any post, you are essentially subscribing to it.

Has anyone else had the problem of not getting email notices that someone has replied to a thread that you have been active in? I hadn't gotten any notices for a LONG time, then one day last week, I was getting them...and then they stopped again.

I much prefer to get email that tells me if someone has responded so I can keep track of the threads I've been a part of and stay on top of responces.

Kevin has also not been receiving notification.

It was nice for a couple of days to have it back, and I did nothing, so where did it go?
(and I DO have the "receive email notification" checked)

No...I don't think I *don't* receive notification, but what is really irking me right now is they aren't coming at the right time!!!!! I mean, I'd get a notification and go to the website for the most recent post. Many minutes later I get another notification for the same post and...it's one that was BEFORE the post I just viewed (so I get about 30 - 60 minute delay from notification!!!)

OMG  Just to prove this...I *just* received an e-mail notification for one of the threads on this board...the time listed for when it was received was....

4:23PM!!!!!!! Right now it is 6:30PM!

This is getting on my nerves...it doesn't usually do this. Grr.....

I have all those e-mail notifications turned off. No need to flood my inbox.
