How Do You Store Your Earrings?

I know the great people on the budget board can help me out here...

I just recently pierced my ears for the first time. I am just now to the point where I can start wearing earrings other than the piercing studs, and I am starting quite the collection! :rotfl2:

So... how do you store your earrings? Is there a special case you put them in? Do you just dig around in your jewelry box until you find two that match?

Also, I am supposed to still wear earrings at night (for the next 5 months) and the only earrings that are comfortable enough are the piercing studs. The problem with that is that they are a HUGE pain to take out. Do you have any suggestions for earrings that won't bug me when I sleep on my side?

I appreciate any suggestions.

Thanks!

I changed out my pillows to make sleeping with earings eaiser. Eventually it will get eaiser. I sleep with earinings in and have for 10 years. As far as storge my earings are seprated into color groups in a fishing takle box. It seems to work for me. I also know people who buy those stryofoam cones, fabric cover them, then stick there earings in that.

I have 1ct ea diamond studs that never leave my ears. :lmao: I got a 1/2 ct ea pair 15 years ago that stayed in since I got them and recently dh upgraded me for our 10th anniversary. No need to store, these girls are permanent fixtures!

DD had these rubber backings that we bought at Claire's and they made sleeping in the studs easier.
My mom got all of us girls a really neat jewelry box from QVC, it has two trays with little compartments and they slide back and forth, that's where all my earrings are. It fits into the top drawer of my dresser drawer so it stays out of sight.

For my costume jewelry, :goodvibesI just use a couple of cheap ice cube trays that I purchased from the dollar store and keep them in my top dresser drawer. My good stuff goes in a safe or on my ears!

Me, too! I think I originally got the idea from Real Simple magazine. I have four icecube trays in my top shallow lingerie drawer of my dresser.:goodvibes

I store mine in a jewelry armoire, and on a metal Eiffel Tower statue. :rotfl:

I have mine in a few bead boxes I got from teh craft store...pretty much like the ice cube tray idea, but with a lid :)

These are all really great suggestions!

I love the Jewelry Box by Lori Greiner, but I am not sure I can invest that much right now. I will have to look into it.

I never would have thought of ice cube trays or bead boxes. Those are great suggestions.

Thanks everybody!

I have taken plastic canvas and stuck my earrings through that. I cut it to a slim piece (rectangle) and store it in my jewelry box.

I have an unusual nightstand: You open the two front "cabinet doors" and inside are two thin drawers that slide out. In those two thin drawers I have manicotti trays (yes, the thin, clear plastic things that hold noodles), and they hold all my jewelry. It's not fancy, but it was FREE and nothing is tangled up.
