How do you set up private group tastings?

I'm thinking of setting up the chocolate and wine tasting for a group of us on our FE/sailing group. How do you set up private tastings? We're just under 3 weeks out from the cruise. Is that too late to set it up?

As an alternative is there any way to call someone in advance of the sailing to request that they hold one of those sessions, even if it's not private? We have several people that have expressed interest in going, private or not.

I don't know about private tastings as I don't like to participate in those groups, but...

At this point tastings cannot be reserved in advance - you have to do it in person once on board. I only say "at this point" because some of us have had a survey pop up on DCL that asked about things we'd like to book in advance and tastings was one of the options. I don't think it'll change in three weeks though.

You can set up private sessions pre-cruise. I believe the minimum number you must pay for is like 25 people.

My daughter set up our group private drink mixology about 2 months in advance and was told someone would contact her about a month out from the cruise, which they did. We did have to pay for 25 spots at I think $20 each. We then collected the money from each of our group going.

I set up the private mixology classes for our cruise group this past January using the email addresses Shmoo provided above. You can only set up private classes for mixology FYI, you will not be able to set up a private champagne/chocolate tasting or other liquor tastings. Those can only be booked once you are onboard.

I emailed 30 days in advance (they won't book it any sooner than that) so at 3 weeks out I would contact them ASAP. You will need the names and cabin numbers of all those planning to attend.

Do you know if that special requests email can be used to make other requests like havin gyour own table, or being waitlisted for an MDR seating?

That sort of request needs to be added to your reservation. Just call DCL and ask for the request to be placed on your reservation. Of course, it's not guaranteed, only a request.

My experience was a little different. I was asked to collect the names and stateroom numbers of those attending and participants were given bar receipts to sign at the end. Everyone came, but it was my understanding that anyone who no-showed would still be charged. I did not have to collect money ahead of time. The only option for us was mixology, which was fine.

That's how our private mixology class was. We all had to submit our names/room numbers. But we didn't sign for the charge until the end of the session.
