how do you pronounce "Caribbean"?

i know...silly, but i wonder everytime i say it if i am saying it right....

In the case of CBR, I say it CARE-i-bee-in.

I say it the same way for Pirate the ride.

However, if I'm refering to a cruise, I say it the other way.

That's ok! Down here we don't call it soda or pop. We call it "Coke". It doesn't matter if it's a Pepsi, Dr. Pepper, Sprite, etc. it's still a "coke". Go figure!

Car-ib-BEE-an is an adjective describing the place. For example, a Car-ib-BEE-an Cruise to the CARE-i-bee-in.

Thats how we Brits do it! I know from TV shows you say it different to us. I never realised any of you called soda "pop" though! (And don't get us started on aluminium )

Oh my gosh, I laughed so hard at this. I grew up in north FL and this is definitely the case. I now live in Southern California and have tried to explain this to them and they all look me like there is something wrong in my head.
