How do you safeguard your DL tickets?

I was so excited when our 4-day parkhoppers arrived in the mail today for our upcoming trip. I was disappointed, however, to find the tickets are just flimsy paper tickets. I was expecting plastic!

Since we need to use these same tickets for four days, I want to be sure they're safe and sound. Please share your tips on how you do this! Does one person keep all the tickets so you know they're in one place, or do you let everyone keep his/her own? My kids are old enough to be responsible for their own, yet I'd hate for someone to lose a parkhopper! Do you just keep them in your wallet or do you have a special place for them?

Thanks for sharing -- I really appreciate it!:flower3:

As soon as we're through the gates, whoever is the runner for FastPasses collects them (either me or DH), because the runner needs them all to get the FPs. I read somewhere that many park tickets are lost when they're put on lanyards, and the plastic pouch breaks away. I bought a slim wallet just for DL, in which I keep my i.d., a few bucks cash, one credit card, hotel key card, and DL tickets (and any fastpasses I've collected). I keep it in my front pants pocket. It's much less likely to fall out from a backpack or my usual waist pack.

Sorry you were expecting the "souvenir" tickets and didn't get them.

If there are numbers on the backs of your tickets, I'd make photocopies of them, just in case something happens to them. Keep the copies apart from where you're going to keep the tickets, just in case having the numbers could help you get them replaced.

Do NOT take them into Radio Shack on the start of your trip and leave them on the counter. That is NOT a good thing to do to your body...I think I'm still coming down from the adrenaline rush I had when I realized my packet was not in the car, in my hands, or on my lap, and we had to drive 2 miles back. I didn't know I could run that fast, from where hubby dropped me off to where the store was in the middle of the mall!

OK so once you get to DLR, I think that I held on to each of our tickets. I was generally the one to rush to the machines for FPs, so it made sense that I held onto them. A few days into the trip, when we upgraded to APs and didn't have those tickets anymore, hubby had his AP and I hold on to mine and DS's. Hubby doesn't like the adrenaline rush HE feels when he notices he doesn't have his AP, so I hand over the AP and FP that I got for him, and I hang onto mine and Eamon's.

We had a Costco travel package which came with vouchers for a lanyard, which came with a cheapie plastic pouch. I had heard stories about those pouches, and so put out the 4 or 5 bucks for a CUTE horizontally aligned, zippered, pouch with Tinkerbell on it. Hubby has one with a jolly roger on it. I am very careful with my lanyard, as is hubby, and I have developed quite a tic of checking for it. :upsidedow

But I've thought quite a bit about getting a "Witz See It Safe Sport Case", especially when we finally go to WDW and include a waterpark or two. :)

I use one of these on a lanyard to carry all our hoppers, FPs, credit cards, etc. . . It's called a surf safe and keeps everything dry and handy for me. I got mine at REI.

Whatever you do, do NOT, I repeat, do NOT put it your pocket! I put mine in my back pocket once and then got soaked on splash. Meanwhile my ticket is squished into wet denim, and when I tried to retrieve it much of one side was completely destroyed. Luckily the strip was still in tact so I was able to get fastpasses and such. But be careful!

Thanks for all the great tips! I hadn't even thought about keeping all tickets with one person for getting FP's -- we would've figured that out the hard way.

Splash Mountain was the first thing I thought of as soon as I saw those paper tickets! I love the little waterproof case -- I think that would be perfect. I also like the small wallet in the front pocket idea -- I think I'll have DH do that. I, too, feel safest when my things are actually "on" me rather than in a purse or backpack. And leaving the tickets in Radio Shack will definitely not work -- yikes!:flower3:

On my last trip there, I was tired of constantly getting my ticket in and out of my pocket...plus it nearly got ruined when everyone in our log on Splash got completely soaked. More soaked then I'd even been on a ride! I went into one of the pin stores and bought one of the plastic holders that go on the end of the pintrading lanyards. It had a little zippered top and I clipped it to the front belt loop on my shorts. It worked out perfect. I always had my ticket in plain view and it was easy to access and stayed dry!

I keep mine in the inside pocket of my purse. You've gotta unzip then dig for it. It's never gotten wet and I'm really really protective of my purse :)

danger mouse awsome one. I was gona try to get a fanni pack and small walet of tink or pirates and keep all my disney stuff there. tho dangermouse i like yours

I ALWAYS keep mine in my front pocket in my wallet. It would be too difficult for a pick-pocket to get something from my front pockets and I tend to walk with my hands in my pockets as it is. I also don't worry about getting them wet since i'm terrified of Splash Mountain! ;)
