My son and I want to order the "Traditional Kjottkaker" when we eat in Norway, but I don't want to sound like an idiot when I order it.

Does anyone know how to pronounce Kjottkaker??? :confused3

And if you ate it before, was it good :teeth: !

Thanks!

We would go over this every time with the CM :) Let's see if I can do this

"kyet'-kahker" with the first "k" being something between a k and an h

Yes, it's very good, one of our favorites. I do miss the trio of sausages, though!

If you aren't careful, it could come out sounding nasty. But I think I've figured it out after a couple trips . . . . . .

jot - with a very soft j, and it rhymes with boat

ka - just like Arnold says the first syllable of "ca-lee-FOR-NEE-ya", or the Hawaiian resort "Kapalua", or the beginning of "kaboom"

ker - like "care", but with the r almost silent

The first time I ordered it, I just pointed!

And yes - I loved it!

I almost spit my water out when I read this :rotfl: !!

I'm also from California and everytime my family here's how Arnold says it we laugh. The first time we heard him say California we thought he was going to say "Calliflower".

Thanks for the pronounciations of Kjottkaker. I'm still confused so maybe I'll just point :rotfl: !

Seriously, if you say something that's in the ballpark, the hostesses will give you credit just for trying. They're very understanding.

If all else fails, just remember "airline excrement" - as in "jet caca". (Did I just use a banned word? I hope not.)
