Even though my next trip is 7 months away, I'll begin my preparations on Sunday, beginning my usual routine. Every Sunday afternoon until we go is Disneymania where we watch a Disney Classic.
On the actual day of departure, I present all the members of the group (usually adults) with a Disney travel pack which I have prepared. These usually consist of little gifts I have purchased from the Disney Store, just to keep us amused on the journey.

Does anybody else have any similar rituals before the Disney pilgrimage? :)

We watch Disney films and play Disney board games all year but the 2wks leading up to the trip I add more in.We always watch Potc,Peter Pan,Haunted Mansion and any other favourites.Play Disney Monopoly, Trivial Pursuit and Eye Spy(we have to pretend were in Disney for this):lovestruc .I also wait till dds are at school then build a miniature Disneyland in their playroom as a surprise. have sleeping beautys castle, teacups, parades,Main street Usa,Pocahontas Village ,then I have christmas CD playing. The look on DD9 face is priceless. DH thinks I'm mad. Dose get everyone excited though. Love your idea of disney packs.

Both times I've kept it a secret because my children are so young...I can't bear being asked when we're going 24 times a day for 3 months!

It would be the other way around in our house :rotfl: The kids get fed up of me mentioning it 24/7 :rotfl:

I havent done any preparation as my recent trips have been spur of the moment lol, plus Kyra watches Playhouse Disney every day to get her in the mood or we usually watch Cinderella.

Oh i do listen to the 15th anniversary cd tho :) alot..on overkill most probably lol

We don't have a ritual as such having not been for so long! We've been watching every Disney film we can get our paws on (Having said that, we can't afford to pay £20 for each DVD as HMV and ZAVVI have them priced, so we watch the few we have on VERY old VHS!) and I haven't shut up about the holiday at all! We do, however, have a plan. We're going to my DBF's parents house (We're departing from Barnsley) the weekend before we leave, and the day before we're planning on watching all the Disney videos they have (Apparantly they have loads- His Dad is a film buff!) to get us all Disney-fied!!

Also, whenever I go shopping I buy something for taking on holiday to Disneyland!

I'm THINKING about it 24/7, I just can't mention it! And DH definitely doesn't want to talk about it all the time, can't imagine why not.
But I guess I prepare by getting little Disney presents for the children. Last time we told them we weren't buying them anything from the shops (they had spending money from relatives) and we gave them a little present to open each day. I'm doing the same in May. Somehow it's much easier to find Disney presents for girls than boys though!

When i have the Disney blues my fav is to listen to Disney music, from movie classic to music from the parks.

Mp3's make the whole thing easier and better for my family as i can listen with my ipod and not get them bored to death :rotfl:

A few days before departure I will usually watch some of the past videos that I have recorded
