This is our first big family WDW trip. I am now ready to book. Do most of you prefer to book online or do you call? If I get a pin later can I apply it later if I book online? I have played around with the site with different options and I think we have decided what we want. Advice?

I prefer to call. I like talking to the CM and usually have a few questions that I want answered.

Yes, if you get a PIN later, you can apply it. Just remember that you can't "stack" discounts.

Advice? If you are booking room only, you can make changes up to five days before you're arrival. If you are booking a package, you have 45 days before arrival to make changes. Any changes inside of those dates are subject to penalties. With that in mind, I book the option I want and know that I can upgrade/downgrade as needed.

If you feel like you might want to make the call I would suggest going online first and playing around with the reservations. You can go through the selection process and get the prices and then save it for later.

We played around with the different discount options and what extras we wanted to add. I even priced the difference between Deluxe Vs Moderate before deciding what we wanted.

The you can have your numbers in order when you call and talk to the CM. If they ask if you want to add an option you'll know the answer and not get something you didn't plan on ordering.

I always price out my vacation online but call Disney Travel to actually book. If I'm talking with a live person, I can put in my requests too.

I forgot to mention that, should you receive a pin or a special offer comes out after you book, you can call Disney Travel and ask that they apply it to your existing reservation. I've never had a problem doing it.

I like to book online (much quicker plus I like to try a lot of different options) then if I need to add anything later I will call them. I have had a few cm mess up my reservations. Of course I have also talked to some very outstanding cm's who have been very helpful. It prob a good thing to check out options and prices online then call so you have your information in front of you. :wizard:

I priced everything out online first : room / tickets / dining plan because I wanted to know in advance what to expect. We then got a pin code, so I had to call to book everything since I couldn't apply the pin online. So I already knew how much everything was going to be, but it was actually better talking to a person. The CM that we got was so sweet and we were actually on for quite sometime. We have a few different things that we're "celebrating" so she gave me tips on getting pins for each event, etc. She also asked if we had a view preference and she made a note of that. In general, I thought it was a terrific experience. I was all set to book online, which was also perfectly fine with me....but I do think that the personal experience of talking to someone and just double checking everything you just booked is also very good. :goodvibes

Just an FYI even if you book online, you have to CALL to make any changes (like apply a PIN that comes later).

IF you are booking a group of 8 or more, and it will be a grand gathering, they want you to call in. You can book online, then call in and have it made into a GG... but I don't believe there is anywhere online to make it a GG when you book it.
