How do you plan around BBB

Hi! Traveling this fall with my DH and DDs 7 and 4 at the time. We have been to WDW several times, but have not done BBB here - we did it for the first time on a cruise last year and my girls loved it. I liked it on the cruise because we could plan when we did it - on a sea day, formal night and a princess meet and greet. My girls kept their hair up for 2 days and I felt “got their money’s worth”

We are traveling in September, will be staying 7 nights and have park hoppers for 6 days. I don’t have a preference of MK or Disney Springs location. We like character dining, so I thought about planning around that. I know it will be hot, so they might not want to wear their dresses long and I’m sure we will swim, so the hair might not stay up too long.

How have you scheduled/planned BBB to make the most of the experience?

Thank you!

My daughter is doing BBB for the first time when we go at the end of the month. I knew I didn’t want the DS location so I called early and still only got an afternoon MK time. I would have preferred an early one so we didn’t have to break the day up with that. So we are doing Frontierland then Haunted Mansion then going to the castle and afterwards we’ll decide where we want to go. We’re doing the dessert party that night so I’m hoping she will still be all dressed up for it.
Honestly for what you are saying I’d get the first BBB reservation in MK, then do breakfast at CRT. That way if they get too hot and want to take their hair out/outfit off they will already have been to a princess breakfast.

You only get so many chances in life to have a makeover in a castle. So we definitely preferred the MK location. We always did first appointment of the day in the MK so we could maximize the time after the makeover for photos and meet and greets before having lunch in the castle.

8 AM (before the park opens) was always our favored time. These days they adjust the schedule to open at 8 more often than before so know going in that might happen.

Our very last BBB day we turned into a 2 castle day with lunch in the castle and dinner at BOG. Or you could do QS lunch at BOG and dinner in the castle. It makes for an awesome day.

The way our day got set up was we a doing breakfast at BOG. Make over in the castle at 10am and then dinner at artist point

We’ve done both MK and DS both were wonderful experiences. The Castle is definitely more convenient if you plan to be in MK that day BUT in June we’re going to do it in the afternoon on a non park day at DS then dinner at 1900 and I’m so excited for a relaxed but fun day for the girls we’ll go to the pool, then lunch, BBB, and finally dinner.

You can’t go wrong and even in the heat the hair will last 2-3 days (bring extra hair spray!). Pool will be more difficult but you can hopefully get at least 2 days out of it. If you plan to do CRT at all I would try to do BBB that same day - we’ve done dinner there after and the older girls and our nephew who did the knights package were just glowing with excitement!

We’re doing it early in the trip because we’re also doing a first hair cut for the 3yo at HB :) but reallynif younget lucky and have some choicenon date and time just do what fits best!

We have never been able to get the MK location for some reason! The first time we did it, we did the BBB DS at around 5pm and had dinner there. Headed to MK first thing in the morning for CRT pre park opening breakfast. Worked out great. Last year we did a 9AM appointment at the DS location and it was a serious upgrade!! They have redone it and it is really wonderful. There is a whole “preshow” where you go in a room with a magic mirror and the CM asks the kids questions about what they want done, and then the mirror comes to life and talks to them. There is a ton more space in the actual salon too. The best part is afterwards you can go to the photopaas studio for pictures. We got our favorite pictures of the whole trip there. We were slow to leave DS afterwards and headed to MK. Got there with enough time to take some castle pics and ride the carousel a couple times before our 1:30 lunch res at CRT.
